I don't get this thread either, but I have no idea how Joe W. could be considered ready for the NBA or Europe--unless the Big Ten is much better than both.
Only thing I can come up with is he doesn't think there will be a college season, why not do it without an agent if he thinks that's a real possibility? Far from ready otherwise
I’m far from an insider but I haven’t seen anything yet that says he won’t be back. If he requested NBA feedback last year it shouldn’t shock anyone if he does it again. I would imagine the virus and lack of workouts would increase the odds of borderline players coming back. It seems like the shutdown would make it harder for an under the radar player to grab the attention of NBA teams right now.
If there isn't a college season there won't be an NBA season so this makes no sense.
But like . . . unless I've missed something, he hasn't officially put his name in for the NBA draft process right?
People have been declaring for over a month now. If he were so sure he was leaving, why hasn't he said anything yet?
The only thing I feel like I “know” is he didn’t appear to be enjoying himself at all the last 3 weeks of the season. Either he was really worn down which is possible given all of the injuries forced him to play more (my hope) or he wasn’t enjoying the team anymore because something happened (my fear).
If it's true that Joe's dating Mackenzie Meyer, then the reason for his slump is real simple. You can't date someone that hot without it eventually messing with your head. And someone as good as Joe can't possibly play that bad for that long without it being in his head.
Good news is Joe is too good not to bounce back. And if they stay together then we will be watching some really good "Little Weezy's" in Hawkeye uniforms 20some yrs down the line

Yeah, unless he actually said he's not coming back, hired an agent, etc., this really isn't news. Of course, maybe he read this board in February and decided he would be chucking the deuces then.
If Joe's goal is to have a shot at getting drafted in the NBA, he's a four-year player.
