Wieskamp put up 42 points against Kenyon Murray's twin boys, but the Murray boy's 9th ranked CR Prairie team prevailed. I didn't see the game, but it was a great game from what I heard.
The other night, Wieskamp scored like 37 points without making a 3 pointer. That's what is the most impressive about him. If his 3 point shooting is off, he will put it on the floor, penetrate, finish, or stop and pop. Or crash the offensive glass.... That is what makes him different than a Ellingson or a Moss or some of our other 3 point shooter guys in the past.
After he didn't make a 3 that game I was talking about, he went to the gym on his own and worked it out and then made like 7-12 threes against Prairie. Some of my numbers may be a little off as I'm working from memory.

Murray's boys don't do much, other than shoot 3pt shots. They're not strong. They're not quick. They are long and they do alter shots in the post. But that's about it. The best all around player Prairie has is #12. They don't have any D-1 prospects on their team.

It also helps that Joe is 6-7 and Moss/Ellingson are 6-4. Those three inches are going to be huge when he gets in the Big Ten and trying to get his own shot.

In the loaded MVC, CR Prairie is about a middle of the road team, probably 7th best out of 14 decent teams. IC West, Dub. Senior (when healthy), Linn-Mar, CR Xavier, Dub. Hempstead, Cedar Falls, and maybe even West Waterloo are as good or better. An interesting year in the MVC Conference, where even this year's bottom-feeders like Wahlert and Iowa City have won four state championships in the past decade.

Linn Mar and CF beat Prairie, pretty handily.

CF just blew a lead against Bolingbrook and lost and got blown out against a DeLaSalle team from MN which featured a kid committed to Minnesota, a pg that Iowa is recruiting, and a 6’7” lefty that can really shoot it. Pretty sure ICW beat that same Bolingbrook team by double figures.

I've only seen CF play 1 game this year. Saw them play several games last year. I'm looking forward to seeing ICW this year. How does their back court look?

Couldn’t go to the ICW game. CF has had a lot of talent the last few years. Trey LaBeaux is at East Waterloo now and had he stuck around Inwould imagine they would be the favorite in Des Moines. He is the best pure athlete I have ever seen at the high school level.

CF is a very good team. When you play the best, you sometimes don't look so hot. There are a lot of undefeated teams in Iowa who won't make state or will lose in the first round because their schedule is so soft.

I'm going to the Prairie @ ICW game tonight. Should be a good game.
