We will be at Will's Training Table in Sioux Falls, SD on Friday night from 5 pm to 7 pm. Free admission and hundreds of Hawkeye fans. We will have Hawkeye merchandise including some Pinstripe Bowl items and Kinnick Bricks. Join us as we get ready for the Iowa Men's Basketball game vs Colorado.

Sure, it would have been nice in SUX; however, Sanford Health (based in SF) is giving UI $150,000 to play there.

While this seems logical, the Sanford Pentagon was built, in part, with this tournament in mind. The Pentagon is the brainchild of Kelby Krabbenhoft, CEO of Sanford Health Systems. It was designed to be a replica of old 1940's/1950's basketball gyms and showcase regional high school and college tournaments and invitationals. It is also the home court of the NBADL SF Skyforce.

Krabbenhoft got the Challenge started with the help of his buddy Bo Ryan who brought Wisconsin in for the inaugural game shortly after it opened. He also somehow got ESPN committed to televising the event. The game has taken root there just as Krabbenhoft intended -its his baby- and it won't move even if it means sacrificing gate revenue.

Having been to a previous game at the pentagon (ISU, I know) it makes much more sense to play in front of a packed house in a basketball environment than the premier center which has a more carver-esque dead feel to it.

The Pentagon is nice. Would make for a great, cozy, and crazy environment if Iowa fans packed the place.
