I get the sense this year could be ALL these guys, and not much from the others, except maybe Wagner and a bit from Uhl and Baer.

Still, this is gonna be a two man team. The wins we will get are the teams we can beat playing 2 on 5.

Thoughts?

I admit I did not. Just been reading reviews and the like.
Christian Williams had a fantastic game. He had 11 points, 5 assists, a block, and (edit) NO turnovers. He showed some great versatility scoring (post, mid-range jumper, and I don't know if he made any threes, but took a couple).

I really liked when Bohannon and Williams were in the game at the same time, as Iowa was able to take advantage of Williams' size and get him in the post.

If Kriener is as advertised on the boards, then I think we've got some great lineups revolving around Cook, Jok, Baer, Williams, Bohannon, Kriener, and Wagner. Uhl probably in there somewhere, and anything Jones/Pemsl can give us is cake.

I think it's funny that people are going crazy after the first exhibition game. Not talking about any of you but some people are going a little overboard. It will be interesting to see what they look like against a team with a pulse

Uhl needs to be a scorer and I don't know if he can do it. Looks like maybe he has taken a step backward, hope not.

I'm really not too worried about the offense this year. This is easily Fran's best shooting team. Might be is most athletic too. Driving lanes should be open for guys to slash with our shooting. I'm worried about defense and rebounding with this group. It's NCAA basketball so obviously pg play will be huge and that will decide how good this team will be if you ask me. The record might just go with the pg play this year. With our wings being able to shoot that should open up Williams to make plays.

I have no problem saying that I think the offense will be better this year than last. I'm worried about the defense though.

Maybe I am simply that Jok and Cook are gonna be so awesome, it won't even seem like we have another 3 on the court.

Maybe it wasn't an insult!

Ok, I admit though, it was...

I could see the end of game offense being better but am skeptical the offense as a whole will be better. A lot of new players who will take time getting used to playing with each other. Huge advantage to have seniors starting (like last year's team), and who had started together for several years. Plus, you are losing one of the best offensive players in the B1G. You also have 2 PG's with basically no experience. I was one of MG harshest critics but he still knew what he was doing being a 4 year starter, and he was a good passer, and absolutely terrific running the fast break.

Now, if you want to say next season's team will be better offensively than last seasons, then I could be persuaded to consider that case.

I will agree that the defense concerns me more as it takes longer to learn than the offense. I think we'll be a worse team offensively, defensively, and rebounding, which is why I think it's going to be a rough season.
