He is not only a non-factor, but he is hurting the team because they know he is not healthy and thus non a viable option for them on offense. No doubt he is Iowa's best player(AIIEC) but he is a net liability to Fran and the Hawks now.

Any medical types care to make a long distance diagnosis as to how long might take to heal that back up?

Agree he is making some great passes but with his back like it is he just is not going 100% all the time

It seems that Fran is the only one who thinks Jok should be playing.... truly incredible that Fran played him as much as he did tonight. Announcers in the las two games have stated that Iowa is playing better with Jok on the bench. An injured Jok that is.... if 100% obviously he needs to be on the court

has the actual injury been disclosed? Is this a season long injury? Muscle? Herniated Disk? What is it exactly.

As an ex athlete that's career ended with herniated disks, I cringe with each step I watch him take tonight. Very unfortunate

Iowas best two stretches of ball the last two games have come with Jok on the bench.

Hes not helping right now.

Need to get the young guys experience for next year.

It's an indictment on Fran. What was the point of running him out there? I guess it makes more sense to play Jok with a bad back who was a liability all night vs. a healthy Moss. Make sure we bench the Illinois kid when we play at NW and IL.

Same here. I was just never the same. Didn't give it enough time to heal initially.

The way he is hobbling along on defense, but yet able to dribble and stop and cut on offense makes me think this is all just a hoax. He seemed fine on offense tonight cutting and dribbling the ball. The only thing I noticed was his "step back" wasn't as quick as normal. He is leaving a lot of shots short, but I think its just fatigue more than anything.

Defensively he is hobbling around like he's got a broken leg. Lets face it he was never a defensive player and he is always going to be a liability on defense regardless if he's healthy or not.

If its a true injury, sit him for 1-2 weeks. Give it a go and see what happens If its still bothering him, shut him down for the season.

I'd shut it down the rest of the year if I were Pete. Get yourself healthy. He isn't doing himself or the team any favors if he keeps going out there as sore as he appears.

Good point. Even Steve Bardo said that Pete should rest, and not play in the next couple of games. Pete is not himself right now.

He lost the ball on an open 3 look twice because he is trying to be cautious. You can watch him trying to run off screens and he just can't move well enough. Later in the game he did his step back and got the guy moving and had the space for a 3 but by the time he was able to ease into a shot the guy was back on him.

He either needs to be a catch and shoot guy for a while and let others play with the ball in their hands or sit for an extended period

He would show glimpses of quickness last night on offense. Defensively he could barely get in a defensive stand. Illinois did not pick on him at all, they could of gone right at him and gotten him into foul trouble quickly.

If he can't defend Fran has to sit him. He has never been a good defender, but this is borderline YMCA defense he is playing. It hurts the team more and more that he is out there. I guess this is a time for someone else to step up.

thanks Legend! No family pictures yet of the 4 of us. Wife won't even go on vacation with me until she loses the baby weight.

Pete is definitely hurt out there. I can tell just watching him. But that stuff gets in your head as well. He needs to sit until he's feeling great and confident his body won't break down on him.

Even injured, Jok is commanding a double team. We just need other guys, (Cook, I'm looking at you!) to provide some offense.

If it's a strained muscle/spasms, sit him out a week or so to fully recover. He's an average defender when healthy. With more limited mobility, he becomes a defensive liability and this team is already struggling with spacing and switchoffs. WAY too many open 3s by opponents this season. Unless we can fix that, this team will struggle to be >0.500.

Cook doesn't need to hear we need offense. If he's to aggressive it leads to turnovers and a quick yank from Fran. He needs to hear make the right read. He's very capable but we need him to be more effiecent.
