Jordan Bohannon Senior Mixtape

May not be as quick but Jordan has about the same handling skills as gesell. He can shoot and makes it look easy. Jordan has a chance to win a starting role but prolly just a spot minutes type of player next year.

I feel better about Bohannon after watching the tape. Boy, he can change directions, come to a jump stop and go up and nail the shot with just a wrist flip. I like Mike, but this year I am not sure he even has a wrist.....

Agree. Gessel's quickness and leaping ability is extremely underrated.

Yep, the only concerns at this point is his quickness and size. Can't change the size, but he might be able to get a little quicker if he puts the time in with the trainers, if we have any of those....

Agree on size and quickness but I love shooters and this kid looks like he can do that.

Yeah and we all thought JO and BE could shoot too.....just kidding, I think jordan is going to be a heck of a shooter

There's a big difference in bohannon's video here. He creates his own shot. He's shooting on the move and off the dribble. These skills are huge for being productive at the next level. Oglesby and even more so Ellingsen are/were contingent on others creating for them and kicking, stand still shooters. We need more guys that can create.

I just want Fran to find a Cartwright type player. A guard who can attack and dish it off. I thought he was our best PG in the Fran era. The guy could attack and he was good at the half court lob for a alley oop.

Gesell very good leaper, but not quick by Div1 PG standards. Look no further back than Indiana game. The 3pt shot l Yogi Ferrell shot over him. Gesell had to back off from 3pt line because he couldn't stick with Ferrell if he drove, so Ferell just takes a step back and uses Gesell for a sight piece and drains the 3.

Lack of elite quickness is the reason Gesell gets swatted on his drives so much.
Indiana game, Gesell comes of bench at 4 min mark, 1st drive he tries reverse layup, SWAT. OSU game, we need a basket, big man Diop catches him from behind...SWAT.

Two of last 3 years, we've had meltdowns in clutch by this Iowa B-ball team and its same cast of characters. Time for them to put up or shut up if they think they are a good team.

Will he make FTs in tough situations. Will he stay poised in tough situations. I think the answer to both of those is yes. He's a tough kid and Iowa needs a guy like that. And he can shoot the hell out of the ball

The knock on Jordan and what kept some schools away is his strength and ability to defend. He's got some work to do there and that's where I don't think Mike Gesell gets enough credit. Mike's got quick feet and is STRONG, really good position defender.

I almost see Iowa's team next year like the team we had 2-3 years ago. We had 10+ guys playing and we ran and scored but had problems defending. That's going to be the key for how much success we have next year, how quickly the team can learn how to defend and get stops.
