GREAT DAY TO BE A HAWKEYE!!!!

Wisconsin wanted him bad. So did Purdue. That says a lot to me. I respect their defenses more than anyone in the country. And we already know dix is a scorer.

welcome to Iowa Josh!!!

They had to know coming in relatively late wasn't a winning strategy.

Good job Fran, he's a very good prospect.

We’ve probably all seen the highlight videos, but here’s an 11 minute video showing a game Dix’s high school team (Abraham Lincoln) played last winter against Millard North - a nationally ranked high school team, number one in Nebraska, and featured 5* guard (#5) Hunter Sallis who committed to Gonzaga. They also had (#1) 3* Saint Thomas, who committed to Loyola Chicago but had offers from TCU, VTech, and Mississippi St, as well as (#4) Jadin Johnson who committed to Old Dominion. Edit: oh and they had (#35) Jasen Green, a 3* PF in Dix’s class (‘22) with offers from Creighton, Nebraska, ISU, KState, Minnesota, Missouri, and Stanford

Dix dropped 32, was the game-high scorer, and led a furious 4th quarter comeback to pull within 4 late after being down 18

This guy is a great friggin get

When head coach Fran McCaffery stopped by my school to see me on Thursday, he asked me if I had any more questions for him. I had one thing to say:

"I just want to be a Hawkeye."

"McCaffery sees me as a Joe Wieskamp/Devyn Marble type of player. He thinks that I can play 1-3, handle the ball, start the break, and then on defense he thinks I can be versatile and guard points guards, guards, wings and even some 4s.

That all sounds great to me.

I can’t wait to get there. We’re going to keep the success going."

This is a really nice story from the Register on why he committed to Iowa.

BOOM! I was so hoping Josh would pull the trigger for Iowa and now he has! He and Bowen form an excellent backcourt for the not-so-distant future. Thank you Josh for joining the Hawkeye program. I can't wait to watch you perform on the court.

Creighton has an absolutely stacked recruiting and they gave Dix a long hard look as well. The guy is a player. My take from June 3rd:

Welcome Josh! Now let’s kick some Cyclone ass and make it a great day to be a Hawk!
Yes and a lot tougher than Frederick. And actually LOYAL.

Frederick’s soul is as brittle as his feet.

Dix is the real deal.

Thank you for sharing. Not so much a story, but rather a first-person account, written by Josh himself. So cool to see this story told in the young man’s own words. Great for Josh to write it, and kudos to the DMR for publishing it.
