He had me at "elite recruiter."

Ben McCollum:

“He is an elite recruiter, excellent coach and has had a ton of success at the prep level. He also has a lot of experience at the Power 5 level with one of the top coaches in the country in Grant McCasland. We’re excited to have Luke join our program.”

Great coaches have there assistants move on the improve their coaching careers! It’s rare to see a staff stay together for long periods of time!
Exactly. While you hate to see good assistants move on, what's it mean if they never move on to bigger and better things? I'd rather have good assistants that end up moving on, than to have mediocre assistants who stick around forever.

Jesse Shaw still lists himself as an assistant coach on X, but I haven't seen anything posted confirming this from Iowa's side.

I have seen that, but he is not listed on the hawkeyesports roster and there hasn't been any sort of press release yet.
Yeah, it is interesting that he refers to himself as a "coach" on Twitter. I wonder if he will be the last official assistant or if Ben is still looking for someone else.

Still have these openings…

I don’t recall hearing confirmation that we’re
getting a GM. Good news there.
Correct me if I'm wrong, just going by memory, but I thought in one of Ben's earlier interviews after being hired, they were talking NIL and having something along the lines of either a recruiting coordinator or a GM, and Ben seemed to think that schools with a larger NIL it might make more sense to have a GM.. So I'm hoping this is a good omen with regards to Iowa's NIL if that's what they're looking for.

Top coaches seem to have one or two guys, who stick with them, but much of the rest of the coaching staff keeps changing. Maybe that should have been a sign with Fran.
