I honestly hadn't heard, other than his grift of Big Dick Toilets, that he was suspected of hiding or otherwise doing stuff he shouldn't with money. But apparently he was pulling in $1.2m a year in salary from a "non-profit".

A federal judge has turned down the Justice Department’s bid to keep secret several financial disclosure forms former acting Attorney General Matthew Whitaker submitted before his filings were formally accepted by ethics officials.

Acting on a Freedom of Information Act lawsuit brought by BuzzFeed, District Judge Trevor McFadden ruled Wednesday that the draft financial disclosures are ineligible for protection under an exemption protecting the confidentiality of policy-making debates.

I guess we might find out if he was trying to hide income/cash from ethics officials.

Matt Whitaker is a HUGE embarrassment to Iowa and the University.

No, a HUGE embarrassment to Iowa and the University would be Bret Bielema,... by comparison Matt Whitaker can be viewed quite favorably...

This is simply a foia request being upheld at the Justice Dept and had no reflection positive or negative on Whitaker.

Matt Whitaker is proof that in America you can be a low level lawyer getting drunks out of DUIs, or marketing turbo charged toilets, but if you flatter the right guy on TV you can pole vault your way to DoJ, and fill in as AG for a few months.
