How did your day at Iowa go?
HOCKENSON: “It was good. It was a good
experience talking to a lot of the coaches. I saw all the new facilities and it
was fun.”
Q: What did you do while on campus?
HOCKENSON: “Coach
Ferentz talked to us and greeted us. Then we talked to some of the coaches. They
took us to the weight room so they could get our height and weights. We went to
the basketball game and after we toured the facilities again. We were going down
to a weight room tour but I went with Coach Ferentz to his office. He talked to
me for a little bit. Then we closed it all down at about three.”
Q: Did
any part of it stand out as your favorite?
HOCKENSON: “I just liked talking
to the coaches during lunch. I liked being able to talk with Reese Morgan and
all the other coaches. That was fun.”
Q: What did Coach Ferentz say when
you spoke with him?
HOCKENSON: “He brought me into his office and it was just
small talk. Then he just said he was interested and he wanted me to know how
interested in me he was. To tell me that means a lot and it was good.”
Q:
With Iowa State offering, did Iowa say anything about an offer?
HOCKENSON:
“No, they didn’t really mention it. He just said he wants me to come down to a
practice and watch them go full force. He said that he wants me to come down
again and visit Iowa.”
Q: When do you want to make a final decision?
HOCKENSON: “I’d like to make it during the summer before football but it all
depends really. I don’t know for sure.”
Q: What camps are you going to
this spring and summer?
HOCKENSON: “I’m going to the Nike Camp in Chicago or
Ohio. I’ll also be going to Iowa State, probably Minnesota, Iowa, and I might
try to make it down to Missouri and K-State.”
Q: How do you feel overall
about Iowa?
HOCKENSON: “I liked it. It is obviously one of my top schools up
there with Iowa State. I like Iowa and Iowa State. Iowa is a good school and
they have a good atmosphere there.”
