Just a gut feeling

But I think Iowa feels 2 ways. 1) they can beat anyone if they compete hard in practice n prep and 2) pissed about Sat not disappointed.

I think they wallop MSU on Sat. Just a gut feeling
Hope you are right! I don't see Kirk allowing a hangover to happen. The team will be focused this week

I've had the same feeling Tony. I'm expecting a good win. In fact, I have a feeling this season may end up very special.

The Hawkeyes have the attention of the B1G.

Spartans are a fairly young but dangerous team. Statistically speaking they've performed at a higher level on offense and defense than the Hawks have, but they have given the ball away a lot so far this season. If they don't turn the ball over against us this game will not be an easy win and could end up being a devastating loss instead.

I feel like we are going to be a bit sluggish on D. That was a war. Hard to recover quickly from that and the heat.

O Should be fresh.

MSU couldnt have played any worse vs ND. Every single break went against them. Not likely to happen 2 weeks in a row. They have some offensive talent.

I think our O can put points up though. This could be Stanley's coming out party with the deep ball

I hope you are right, but that would buck Iowa's tendencies historically. With the exception of 2009 (2015 they didn't really play anybody good), they come out flat after a big game. That doesn't mean I think they will lose, but I don't anticipate a dominant game either. I really, really hope I'm wrong and it will say a lot about this team if I am. I will be convinced that this is a top 10 team if they do, not just a top 25 team that can play with anyone every once in a while.

I'm embarrassed, I can't recall examples. Can you think of some games where we had a let down?

Thanks Bio.

Remember what we did to them after the Wisconsin game in 10? Similar physical game with similar result. I hope our reaction is the same. This is a less talented team for them than that one.

I suspect MSU is going to play a lot better than they did against ND.

I am not expecting a letdown by Iowa.

This game is going to be your typical MSU/UI slugfest...probably an ugly game aesthetically...but I think Iowa gets the job done, just too much more experience by comparison.

This one feels like there's a dud coming. Sorry.

If Iowa wins this game, it will be much more impressive than most fans realize. Hawks are a 3.5 point underdog. Yes, KF's approach about moving on to the next game helps in games like this, but Iowa gave a lot in that game against Penn State. Another physical slugfest one week after will be a definite challenge. Spartans have some talent, but have been just terrible turning the ball over. Will they keep making those mistakes?

The offense cannot go into hibernation for an entire half and win this game. Win this one and Big 10 West is still within reach. Lose and that goal becomes not realistic.

My gut feeling is that MSU can't stop the run and we lose this game. I was kinda surprised with the relative ease ND ran on us although ND has a running QB and they run from spread shotgun looks not power.

We struggle to tackle when the opposing team's back breaks through the los.

I hope your gut feeling turns out better than Kirk's gut feeling during halftime of the 2009 game at Pitt...

I agree with this that game Penn St game took a lot out of the kids. I also believe Penn St. could get upset in NW too. Barkley was hurting with a bad ankle that last drive
