Pretty embarrassing Homecoming crowd in Bloomington. Plus we had several POS Hoosier fans around us trashing Iowa. Most of the smack was about the State of Iowa but when they got really pissed they of course started with the basketball smack. I’ve been to several games in Bloomington and this was the first time I’ve ever dealt with idiots like this. Thankfully about midway through the 3rd they all left to go out and drink.

Regarding the end of the game, I made a comment when we were still throwing with our starters in late in the 4th that i wonder if IU is trashing Iowa in recruiting or something. Especially with Iowa recruiting Indianapolis a lot more now. The negative recruiting stuff always gets back to KF. Joe Tiller was famous for it.

After Iowa took the delay of game with 3 secs left Tom Allen started pointing up and yelling at the Iowa section of fans. It was weird. Then IU could have run off the remainder with a 10 sec runoff and elected to have us snap one last time. Then KF threw it deep again. Makes me think KF isn't a big fan of his.

This was yrs ago but I remember the Hoosier Fans throwing beer cans at us as we left the parking. Lucky they couldn't hit the broad side of a barn.

The announced attendance was 40,512; but how many showed up?

IU's stadium holds just 47,408.

It's interesting that these were the betting numbers:
  • Line: IOWA -3.5 (ended up being 26)
  • Over/Under: 52 (42-16 final score = 58)

Pictures like this (with so many empty seats) surely don't impress recruits

On the WMT call in show after the game, Trevor Bollers said he thought Stanley was still out there at the end slinging it around because the Iowa staff was 'working on something' for later in the season. Best to do it against a 'live' defense than your own 2's or scout team in practice.

Stanley being out there the full game brought comparisons to CJ being out there late against Stanford in the Rose Bowl and against Tennessee in the Taxslayer. Kirk has a history of not playing the backup QB if the starter wants to stay in. I disagree with that, but Kirk makes the big bucks, so I'll defer to him.

The last pass was to show Bell we aren't messing around.
That's kinda what I was thinking.

The Hawks have been making headway in recruiting within the state of Indiana. It's useful for the Hawks to show recruits that IU is a 2nd tier B1G program, at best. The Hawks at least have a shot to contend for the conference on a yearly basis.

The next "hard part" will be to take care of business against Purdue. If we can do that ... then the Hawks really could have a season that ends with an exclamation mark!

It could be a recruiting ploy too. With Georgia sniffing around Padilla ... and given that Padilla is intending on enrolling early (if memory serves) ... it doesn't hurt to make recruits think that there aren't any incumbent QBs beyond Stanley. Furthermore, that helps to push the QB competition forward between the backups anyhow.

Can’t win, for years everyone has complained about the same old crap, now it’s a little aggressive and everyone is questioning it. Glad I’m not a coach.

For four or five million a year, you can question anything you want about me. I don’t think KF loses much sleep at night wondering if the fans are going to like him or not at this point.

I know it, you know it, and the American people know
it. The University of Indiana is a "Basketball School".
The Athletic Director there has no interest in a winning
football program.

To me its no wonder he is not on Twitter and that he bans his players from it. Twitter is such an unnecessary distraction. Just look at the Iowa basketball team and how it got Zach McCabe in trouble; also, remember Jordan's "relax" tweet last year that caused all kinds of responses?

All the IU fans were great yesterday before and after the game. They know their program is struggling and needs to improve.

Yes they are a basketball school and majority of their resources go to basketball. I mean they have one of the top players in the nation suiting up for them.

I compare Iowa basketball to Indiana Football. Have had some success recently, but nothing earth shattering. I just couldn’t believe the lack of support in the stands. There was no one there. I would be offering 5$ tix to the local schools to get fans in the stands to create some environment

I wouldn’t be surprised if KF wasn’t a fan of Allen. Did you see that maniac on the sidelines? His teams played to his personality: undisciplined.

I have a friend here whose family knows he and his family personally, that doesn't sound like the case.

I will never understand spending a bunch of cash to go to a game.... then being an arse and not having fun. I've been to many losing hawk games and had fun. even went clear to miami. lost. had a good trip. just drink some beers and have a good time.

It looked like the players played with discipline, but his staff may be a reflection of him. How many times do you see two unsportsmanlike conducts come from two different coaches ?

It's Indiana University. That's why they call themselves IU.

See Northwestern University, NU. The highly respected school that would have laughed at our applications is not the University of Northwestern.
