The paper had a story on sunday about 30 albums turning 30 this year, and Dookie was one of them. I first laughed because I counted 11 of the albums that I've listened to in the last week and then realized that every year post 1994 has gotten progressively worse for music.

Alice in Chains was the loudest band that I've ever seen live, probably a solid 30% louder than any other band I've seen. I remember feeling sick for a week afterwords because it was like Jerry Cantrell gave me a concussion

Jerry Cantrell, Bush & Candlebox are gonna be playing in Cedar Rapids this summer... I can't wait!

Not a huge green day fan, but Dookie was one hell of an album
I remember driving home after work one night in october of 93 and one of the rock radio stations was doing a “Trash it or Smash hit” segment and played Longview.

I loved it. Everybody that called in said “trash it” and “it sounds too punk”. That next year, they blew up.

Billie Joe was in another band called Pinhead Gunpowder in the 90s and early 00’s if you like a grittier punk sound
