Just what the world DIDN'T need...

Pretty soon 4-8 will get you into a bowl.

Nebraska sure hopes so.

Can someone please show them highlights from our Pinstripe bowl game to show that there should never be a football game played in late December on a field used almost primarily for baseball in a cold weather state. I could only imagine how cold Wrigley gets with that nice winter breeze coming off the lake that time of year.

At this rate, they'll be getting FCS teams to fill bowl slots. Especially since the PAC-12 recently made it a point to keep 5-7 teams at home.

I would love to see the conferences vote to do the same thing.
Normally I'm a capitalist and say it's business/competition, but it's not when you make the schools essentially pay to play in the bowl games.

I don't care what anyone says. If you can win your bowl game and still finish the season with a losing record, you have no business being in one.

If only Dan McCarney were still in Ames. Still love his line "Once again, Iowa State is one of the bowl champions of America." Smh. That's what bowl season has been reduced to--regular season participation trophies for more than half of D1 with a 50/50 chance of getting a toilet bowl trophy.

Back when I was a young man it used to mean something to earn a trip to a bowl game.

Now, more teams go to bowls than stay home.
Can't quite figure out the angst...unless your worried your one of the teams scheduled for a new bowl... or your worried you will be left at home...now that would be embarrassing. Otherwise who cares if there's a couple more bowls. play an extra game.

We just had a portion of the fanbase go freeze their nuts in yankee stadium, go to chicago or NY for that game in the cold, you will get it.

But that was your (teams) fault! Again who cares if fans freeze their nuts off at a football game (it happens in November and December games all the time) unless your concerned it will be your team again. The top tier bowls are only the important ones anyway. The others called a 'bowl" only use the name to add an extra game.

So you don't want more bowl games added because it might break your record?

Or that it is a joke that teams with out a winning record make a bowl. Lot of people aren't fans of the everyone gets a participation ribbon mentality which bowl system has started to become. But after 2 years ago when they had to dip into the 5-7 teams maybe that was a sign they don't need to add anymore bowls. I guess maybe they should just go to 65 bowl games and everyone gets to play in one.

Probably because schools like iSU will start crowing about going to a bowl every year, when in reality just about everyone gets to. So no, not worried about a thing, other than watered down everyone-gets-a-participation-trophy mentality creeping into collegiate sports.
