Justin injured his knee in the first match of the day yesterday it's still a little sore today and a little swollen but we are being precautious and instead of risk of more damage he just defaulted out because we wanted to be ready for state we don't think it's to serious we have an appointment on Monday thank you guys for all the support and will keep u guys update we are not sure if he will be able to compete this coming up week in NJ for WNO duals?

Thanks for the update, hopefully its nothing too serious. Wishing him well!

Heal up Justin take your time winning that 3rd state title is the main thing. Just don't come back to soon. Hawk fans pulling for you won't hurt a thing if we all just say a few prayers that the report tomorrow is a good one.

in other news...JRent back in action last weekend at Super Duals. Good news there.

Here's hoping for a quick recovery for Justin, and nice to see JRent back in action.

He was on the plane to Jersey this morning with the team. Not for sure that he'll wrestle all duals, just vs Blair and Bergen when needed, or might sit out altogether if the knee isn't feeling right.

Pulled this from the PSU rivals board...

On other little tidbit from the Clovis trip. Justin Mejia injured his knee at the Doc Buchanan. As with many injuries, nobody was providing specifics on the injury, or how long he would be on the shelf. For reasons that are not clear to me, Mejia weighed in at the Flo National Duals. His recorded weight was 133.8. A few coaches, and several fans that learned of his weighing in, were wondering why he had weighed in, as now he was on record as being nearly 12 pounds over the 120 + 2 weight, and thus was limited as to how quickly he could drop down to 122, even if his knee was cleared for wrestling.

Also from the BWI Rivals board........Buchanan defeated Clovis in the big showdown this evening.

AJ wrestled 195, and won by decision. Seth had a pin at 285. Mejia was back on the mat for Clovis (still don't know how his descent plan worked), and he got a pin.

Clovis won 6 matches, 3 by pin and 3 by decision.

It's seems counter productive to the ideology of the descent plan, but it is my understanding that the descent plan only matters for the initial descent. Once they have reached the weight, they can weigh in at heavier weights, and it does not matter. The only thing that they can not do is accept 2 pounds at a heavier weight and then try to get back to the lower again.

I've always thought that was silly, but that is how I understand it.

Incorrect, you have to follow the descent plan the entire time

Okay, I explained that poorly.

Yes, they have to follow the descent plan. But the plan allows for you to weigh in at 2 weight classes. So as long as you weigh in at those 2 weight classes, the descent plan never resets. So, a wrestler can follow their descent plan, weigh in at 120, weigh in and wrestle at 126 the next week then weigh in and wrestle at 120 again the following week. They don't have to follow the 1.5% per week rule once they've followed the original plan to get down. If they weighed in at 132 when their plan said 120/126 then their plan would reset.

Or another example, you could weigh in at 126.0 every week of the season, but be eligible to wrestle 120 by your descent plan, and drop those 6 pounds in one week for districts.

I just think that if they wanted to reduce the weight cut, it should always be 1.5% per week. If you weigh 126 one week, the descent plan should reset to that weight, and you have to start fresh.

I wonder if Justin "weighed in", but the weight was never actually recorded in track.

Down here in Florida, you have to follow the 1.5% per week. I thought it was like that across the country?
