I'm sure he did.Good for him, would be better if he could get a big ass check for his time too.
Sure, except for getting to play for the #1 team in the nation, and getting more minutes than he did at Iowa in the process.Be ineresting to see if it works out for him. It certainly didn't help Moss when he transferred to Kansas.
He got far less minutes, he averaged 17 minutes per game with Kansas and 24 with Iowa. His point production dropped as well from 11.1 to 6.5. I understand the move, but it didn't help out his NBA chances.Sure, except for getting to play for the #1 team in the nation, and getting more minutes than he did at Iowa in the process.
There you go again, just throwing shit out about any program you don't like and is successful and making big assumptions about everything/anyone.It seems that Kansas pays as well as just about anyone.
You may want to go back and check those minute numbers. I'm sure he obviously wanted to play in the NBA, but I'm guessing his real motivation was to play for a good team, and he was also probably pissed at Fran for benching him in the second half and crunch time every single game at Iowa.He got far less minutes, he averaged 17 minutes per game with Kansas and 24 with Iowa. Except that they are in trouble with the ncaa for doing exactly the thing we are talking about. You will have to do better than that. There you go again, just throwing shit out about any program you don't like and is successful and making big assumptions about everything/anyone.

What kind of trouble? What penalties? What post season are they missing?Except that they are in trouble with the ncaa for doing exactly the thing we are talking about. You will have to do better than that.
You are right, I was reading it just ass backwards, but with that said, he certainly didn't get a huge boost in playing time. You may want to go back and check those minute numbers. I'm sure he obviously wanted to play in the NBA, but I'm guessing his real motivation was to play for a good team, and he was also probably pissed at Fran for benching him in the second half and crunch time every single game at Iowa.

Yeah, like the benching during an epic comeback vs Tenn in the tournament when Moss was playing extremely well and almost brought us back to win by himself in that last 5 minutes. You may want to go back and check those minute numbers. If only we got to see that more often...Yeah, like the benching during an epic comeback vs Tenn in the tournament when Moss was playing extremely well and almost brought us back to win by himself in that last 5 minutes.
What if schools like Kansas had to reimburse Drake for the scholarship money they gave to the student athlete when kids leave for a year? That way it might pay to be a feeder program for a mid-major.

That actually is a fantastic idea. What if schools like Kansas had to reimburse Drake for the scholarship money they gave to the student athlete when kids leave for a year? That way it might pay to be a feeder program for a mid-major.
Don't really see the correlation. Moss simply wasn't all that. He filled a niche for KU but he was never going to parlay that into the NBA. He simply wasn't that good. Remains to be seen about this young man.Be ineresting to see if it works out for him. It certainly didn't help Moss when he transferred to Kansas.
Yesufu is like a better shooting Joe T.Don't really see the correlation. Moss simply wasn't all that. He filled a niche for KU but he was never going to parlay that into the NBA. He simply wasn't that good. Remains to be seen about this young man.
Stinks for Drake and it’s coaches ... This portal is a game-changer ... we’re going to see more and more of this and mid-tier schools will suffer when their “stars” experience success and then go “shopping” for a bigger offer.
What about the other way? Would Drake be on the hook for Ellingson time at Iowa? Which programs count? That actually is a fantastic idea.
I think in a case like Brady or upperclassman, many who have already met their degree requirements or are on pace, I see no need for that. My way of thinking would be that both parties have met their obligation at that point. Now a first or second year player maybe....What about the other way? Agree with this. The grad transfer guys I’m fine with whatever. They’ve put in their time. Both Robbins and Yesefu were very lightly recruited. Drake being the best offer for both. I’m not going to piss and moan about it as DeVries has proven he’s really good at working the transfer portal in his favor as well, but it does suck when you take a kid that nobody else really wanted and they leave the moment things go their way. Agreed. It will only let the rich get richer... which sucksStinks for Drake and it’s coaches ... This portal is a game-changer ... we’re going to see more and more of this and mid-tier schools will suffer when their “stars” experience success and then go “shopping” for a bigger offer.
Iowa > KansasSure, except for getting to play for the #1 team in the nation, and getting more minutes than he did at Iowa in the process.
Which is unfortunate when you look at all the stars that have come from mid majors....Ja Morant, Steph Curry, even Obi Toppin from Dayton as last year's (fake news) POY.Agree with this. Seriously, this--or some form of it--could make a ton of sense.
That actually is a fantastic idea.
Doesn't look like a game changer to me. Looks like the rich keep getting richer and the Drakes of the world end up in the shitter. How frustrating it must be to find, take a chance on a kid and develop talent that gets snatched by big time programs. It's like Pittsburgh Pirate baseball only worseStinks for Drake and it’s coaches ... imagine if Drake had both Liam Robbins and Joseph Yesufu next season?Doesn't look like a game changer to me. Looks like the rich keep getting richer and the Drakes of the world end up in the shitter. Fran was originally against the transfer portal for the reasons you describe; and he definitely thought that if a kid transferred, he should have to sit a year before being eligible
I think you've nailed it. This whole process lets the Kansas, Duke, etc, replace one-and-done players with proven talent from other colleges instead of relying on new high school recruitsAgreed. It will only let the rich get richer... which sucks
Darian DeVries is a heckofa coach. Just think of what they would have next year with Liam and Yesufu. The rest of the starters and Tucker DeVries?!?
They would be a badass team!
