Anyone else think that Keegan reminds them of Chris Street? I think they have very similar skill sets. They also have similar demeanors. Watching Keegan play last game reminded me of Chris Street, so I thought I’d post to see what you all see in Keegan’s game.

I was thinking more Ryan Bowen, at least defensively.

But then he did that behind the back dribble finish and I'm not sure if Street, Bowen or Aaron White could have made that move.

I don't know if Iowas had a guy in the 6'8 range that could dribble that well. Maybe Uthoff?

Was also very impressed how he stayed in front of guards on defensive switches.

His hustle. Absolutely!

I think may be a better shooter though, although that wasn’t we saw a ton of from CS40. He was a very middle range shooter though.

Ray Thompson for me.

I considered it but I also considered Brig Tubbs. In the end, I had to go with Ray.

That behind the back dribble wasn’t clean enough to work against better teams. I was shocked to see it from him and it gave him the path in that game. Very talented kid that will be awesome in a couple of years if his game keeps growing.

Man, not trying to be a Debbie downer here but Street was going to be an NBA player. He was averaging almost a double double at 15 pts and 9 1/2 rebounds per game befor the accident as a Jr. Nobody in the country played harder. If Keegan can become the next Chris Street I think we’d all be pretty happy.

As a junior he was. Street was pretty raw as a freshman

I said as a Jr. All I’m saying is for some people to slow their roll a bit. Hope it works out for all.

If you are on a top 5 team and can grab legit minutes, as a true frosh, you're gonna get some people talking :).

Hopefully when he has some bad games, they remember he's not lebron and take it easy

The Murrays remind me of taller versions of Ray Thompson. Same calm attitude, same body structure (long arms), same gait. Thompson was a scorer. Hope the Murrays develop into the same.

I think our fanbase spends way too much time trying to guess that some player will be the next Chris Street. It is never a fair comparison. It would be like comparing football players to be the next Nile Kinnick.

What we have is a solid freshman contributor on a veteran team that is turning out to be a recruiting steal considering his offer list. It would be amazing if he could blossom into a starter in the next two seasons. Even if he doesn't, he's got a future as a damn good backup forward. And I would consider that a recruiting hit for Fran. It will be interesting to see if Kris develops into a regular contributor in the next few years. I'd expect so as we graduate a lot in that time.

Loved his performance last nite.
Showed good hands, quick jump, good lift, solid jumper, nose for ball, high BB IQ.
He projects as a starter by next year. If Kris has a similar skillset we have a dynamic duo down the road.

I'll take the layup...he reminds me of Kenyon Murray. Good shooter, outstanding hustle and nose for the ball. Not afraid.

He's very smooth, and I have a hard time believing Kris is that much different, so I can't imagine he won't be a solid player down the road too.

Keegan looks to be our best dunker too. Love having at least one of those guys around. That jumping skill comes in handy for putbacks and such too, and he's already proven he's not afraid to stick his nose in there.

Sure looks like these Murray boys are going to be really good Hawkeyes.
