Keegan Moore JCC - Article

I see Colbray is project at 184 and has Iowa in his top 5. Anyone know if he has taken a visit here? If he was a guy that could go 84 and 97 if needed he would be a great get.

Also I just saw that the gophers just added Owen Webster (Shakopee) as a commit. Owen beat Moore this summer, and I believe he bumped up to do it.?

From a JCC local I was informed he had a learning disability. Would explain the grade struggles.

Webster wrestled Greco at like 167 and got second, then the next day wrestled freestyle at like 187 and won it all. Pretty impressive when u think about it.

-iowa not in top 5
-Grades have been an issue - sat out first game of season
-Wrestling is where he will most likely go, but football has a chance, football is his favorite sport

Grades are NOT an issue. Had knee surgery this summer, hence no Fargo competition. Tried to make a go of it at Jr Worlds and made it worse.

Stellar kid and family. Any program would be lucky to have him. Iowa is not in top 5, just due to personality differences, nothing negative, just different. He is very devout Christian...including extra-curricular activities. Not a big hunter, but does. He is a Jay Borschel personality with talent akin to Lincoln Mac. Again, not bad, just different. I'd personally be shocked if he ended up anywhere other than UNI. Possible, yes, but realistically, his brothers and him are very close and keep each other in line (religiously)...

Lincoln Mac talent is not something that should be thrown around willy nilly.

Just to clarify, Keegan Moore did wrestle Fargo. He made the quarterfinals, where he was beaten, and then lost again in the round of 12. He currently is ranked #44 in this year's senior class by Flo.

Also, it was mentioned in the original post that grades are an issue. That is INCORRECT. And regardless, it's just wrong to post about a 17 year old kid's perceived "learning disability" on a public forum.

Well if you would read the article keegan and his head wrestling coach aluded to the fact his academics need to improve

My academics needed to improve when I was in high school as well, but I had a not going to class disability. Then in college I developed a beer, weed and chicks disability. Point is lots of kids struggle with grades, not sure how that makes him have a learning disability, and as justpin pointed out why would that get posted on a message board even if he did?

I had the impression that the poster who mentioned LD was basing it on information he had, not on the bad grades. I know it's a little sensitive to speak about kids having an LD, but my take was that it was a defense of the kid, as in "He doesn't have a 'not going to class' problem, he has a legitimate learning disability that makes school challenging for him." If bad grades are the result of laziness (something I had personal experience with) it's not really defensible. If bad grades are the result of a clinical learning disability, it does not reflect poorly on the kid. Just means it's a challenge he has to deal with.
