sometimes you wonder if they know the fair catch rule

There is the distinct possibility that with the fair catch rule kick coverage due to the lack of live in game action may be getting soft/sloppy/inefficient etc. and the teams that actually return the ball may experience more success than previously.
Or.......... that could be entirely wrong.

The reason we don't have many returns is because the other team doesn't score very often.

While Iowa looked a bit sloppy on a couple kick-off returns, IU's coverage team was even worse. The one that bounced near the goal line looked like IU would surely have Iowa inside the 10, BUT NOPE. 2 whiffs by IU and Iowa took it 60 yards. Then starting 2nd half IU stopped Iowa at the 12 only to be offsides. The subsequent re-kick Iowa gets out to the 37, which I believe was their worst starting field position after a kick-off all day.

Former Hawk player and current IU Special Teams coach, William Inge hopefully will figure it out.
