Hope you and the kids had fun at the event. Thought I would post some things I saw on twitter for those who don't have it regarding Kids Day. I am also interested to hear your thoughts QC.
I'll dictate some of my thoughts via my phone so bite me if the voice recognition has typos and you don't like it. Sergeant is definitely the real deal. I really liked what I saw from Geno Stone considering he's second team at this point. Too bad Davion Nixon can't play this year because he is a beast. Look like Levi Paulsen had a knee tweek as well as ISM when he tried making a cut late in the practice. On defense both epenesa and stone are second team for us but could start for most teams. Sergeant seem to have the it factor in all levels of his play. Max Cooper had some drops that were kind of frustrating. True freshman Noah Shannon sure is Chubby but he can get a pretty darn good push. He is so thick. He needs a year with Doyle to distribute his weight differently. Racino still clearly the number one kicker. I don't really have an opinion on the punters at this point other than they seem to get the back spin on it really well and kill them within the 5 to 10 yard line. I'm open to your questions. I'll be here all week.

How did the water tower look? Was it beautiful?
It looks mush better in person. It’s a lot taller and closer to the field. The new scoreboard is going be huge too. Great addition.
I didn’t see 7 on 7 as my kids were being awful so we left early. Stanley looked sharp. FG kicking was just Meh. Geil is going to be a beast in the next few years. DL looked very good getting pressure on QB’s.
The North End Zone Suites are clearly not ready to open however I was told that they won't open until next year.
One fun play that really stood out to me was when left cornerback and 3rd team true freshman Brent's came on a blitz and creamed the running back. I forget who the running back was however the quarterback, not Stanley, had no idea the blitz was coming.
Haven’t heard much about the WRs today...how did Easley, Smith, ISM, and Groeneweg look? Any others make an impression?
Ihmir smith-marsette had some flashes but then tweaked his ankle. Max Cooper had a few drops. They weren't going to the tight ends a whole lot. In my opinion sergeant had the best Catch of the Day down the left sideline.
The North End Zone is going to look really nice once it's all done, it also makes the stadium feel more enclosed and hopefully that will make it even louder for opponents.
How did Smith look? Did he get off the line well? Sharp cuts? 219 is a lot of weight to carry

I wish I could say that I saw a lot of Smith but I did not. Perhaps that was just me and what I was watching. Regarding Render and what will be the offensive line for the first game I actually feel really solid even though Jackson and wirfs will be out.
I didn't watch the linebackers enough to come away with a strong opinion.
Oh yeah, quarterbacks. Stanley was what you would expect. Mansel did not show me what I needed to see to think he will remain the second string quarterback. Petras will take over as second-string this year. I think Petras will have a really good career and Iowa.
Leistikow said Stanley looked sharp and showed some mobility. Did you see that?
Yes he was very sharp. I'm pretty sure he's our least mobile quarterback so I didn't totally see what he saw.
