He is good, but As the announcers pointed out, that was a stupid play that should've been flagged and would have hurt his team.He tossed Witten in the first half like a beast aswell. Stud!
To me it looked like one of those plays where momentum to finish the tackle is past the point of no return just as the referee's whistle is blown. For this reason, the refs decision to hold onto the flag was correct. I suppose an argument could be made that the tackle was unnecessarily rough but King was just doing his job IMO, he didn't drop Whitten on his head.He is good, but As the announcers pointed out, that was a stupid play that should've been flagged and would have hurt his team.
It was after the play was dead or after forward progress had been stopped, which is a personal foul. https://www.prideofdetroit.com/2016...ons-body-slam-illegal-rulebook-replay-penaltyTo me it looked like one of those plays where momentum to finish the tackle is past the point of no return just as the referee's whistle is blown. The play wasn't dead yet, not at the point that the final momentum of tackle had been initiated- that's the point I was making. The article you linked arrived at the same conclusion about the play they reviewed, they wroteIt was after the play was dead or after forward progress had been stopped, which is a personal foul. https://www.prideofdetroit.com/2016...ons-body-slam-illegal-rulebook-replay-penalty
