From 2002-2005, we had an unbelievable home win streak (it might have been longest in the country at one point), and as a fan you just had confidence that Kinnick magic or whatever you want to call it, would come through an ensure a victory.

The day that streak was snapped in 2005 vs. Michigan with Dave Witvoet to me was a turning point (and not a good one) for Kirk, as the spell seemed broken for opposing teams and home games just didn’t have the same feel. If you weren’t around during that 02-04 run, maybe you can’t relate, but it was just magic.

It seems like with this game and even though we lost, the PSU game, Kinnick is getting a lot of credit as a tough environment, a tough place to play. Hats off to the fans that make happen, and it seems to me the key to another special run. Next year really is set up nicely with ISU, Bucky, and Debbie at home.

Kinnick is a great venue, without a doubt. However, it gets "better" the later in the day the game starts. It's not as intimidating at 11 am. The better the Hawks do, the more later games they will get.

Luckily we don't play Ohio State next year.

I agree whole 100%. I first got season tickets the 2002 season. Had them right up to 2013 (damn kid), the atmosphere for those few years were electric. Some of the best games I ever saw live were in that time period, 2002 Purdue, ISU (a loss, but hella game). I can go on and on. If you were in the south endzone during that time, you probably saw me jumping around running in the aisles :)

Pretty wild in there. Not as loud as Penn State game but everyone was sort of like is this really happening or wondering if 21 points ahead was enough against OSU. They just kept rolling.

2:30 games late in year are nice because they end in darkness (unless of course we lose).

One of my favorite games I've attended was in 2003 against Arizona State, I think it was a 5pm kickoff. The action on the field seems blurry now, but I distinctly remember the place was buzzing that night.
