Let's be honest, any program with any sort of self respect would've ran him out of town after the 2010 season. A team LOADED with NFL talent on both sides of the ball goes 8-5 (needed a miracle to win the bowl), he should've been shown the door for that disgrace...

Ferentz is finally proving to be no better than Fry. A lot of hype here and there over the years but not much to show for it. Neither side of the line is good. Supposed to be iowa's calling card.

This board is really sad. Kirk is a great coach. Iowa is a tough job. Last year he was "the greatest coach in the country"...now u want him out. A shame

What difference a year makes, you can't just do good one year and get us all ready for some good consistent football on both side of the ball.. Then come back the next year, get a Sabanesc deal and SUCK!

I'll say up front that I've wanted KF gone for awhile but after last year I felt he earned the right to stay till 2020. I'm ready for something new if Washington can find a coach like Chris Peterson why can't Iowa ?

Who thought he was a great coach last year??? He has never been a great coach! His offenenses are rarely good and Norm always had a good defense to bail the offense out. Phil is not Norm and the margin for error is so slim with his style of play.

Seattle vs Iowa City?

True.. As I watched michigan they to ran a pro style o but as Wisconsin shut certain things down, michigan started doing other things to keep Wisky honest.. How come Kirk won't adjust., nothing wrong with the pro style, he just needs to STYLE it better! His pro style is out of style and that's one of the reasons when things go bad fans want him gone!

U r clueless. Always have been.
Please elaborate, oh wise one. I'm taking up a lot of space in that little head.

I'm sure keeping Rich Rod or Hoke around for several more years would have Michigan looking a lot better than they are right now LOL

Washington is a better job than Iowa, plus Peterson's roots and contacts are in the West.

Well, Ferentz is here for a long time now. With all of the limitations that a school in Iowa City has, he has done pretty well.

I sure wish people would aspire to greater things.

With attitudes like yours, it's a wonder American exceptionalism exists.

But 7-5 is nifty compared to the Commings era, so clearly this is the best Iowa football can ever do. The athletic facilities upgrade and 4.5 million dollar coaching salary is just to maintain these inspirational 7 win seasons--without them, we might have to hire a coach that can barely handle Iowa State and who might even allow directional schools to come into Kinnick and curb stomp our beloved Hawks.

No kidding. I keep reading over and over by how tough of a job Iowa is. That's a load of crap.

1. Money. Iowa is one of the wealthiest athletic departments in the NCAA and with BIG money that's not changing.

2. Facilities. Kinnick and football facility.

3. Proximity to Chicago, Minneapolis, and St. Louis. Yeah, Iowa may not have the deepest talent pool and the Clones do siphon off some talent but IC is still not the middle of nowhere.

4. Tradition. Iowa has won conference titles, bowl games, and has won on the big stage before.

5. We are obviously willing to pay an insane amount of money for a head coach.

I just don't see how people can think that we're just little old Iowa. Hell, it's not like we're that school over in Ames.

You mean like North Dakota State?

If this was a Blondie comic strip, then you, sir, would have a giant exclamation mark hovering directly above your head.

Really??????? Did you read the post I responded too?????? Did you not see the sarcasm....not to mention the posters remark about being beat by a DIRECTIONAL school???? You sir, need to color your hair blonde or actually read the post!

Lol--yes, really.

1--I not only read the post you were replying to, I wrote it.

2--Think about it: a coach who struggles with ISU and directional schools. Sound familiar?

3--Anger over bad losses apparently breaks sarcasm detectors. You may want to get that fixed.
