Kirk Ferentz Opening Statement
A couple words about Tyler. We all learned about the medical examiner's report this morning. His passing has been a very sad thing. Our thoughts continue to be with his parents and family.
Heard Steve talk about ticket sales. Great crowd Saturday and very appreciative of the support we receive.
Great for fans to be able to witness special performance by Jordan.
Going back to last week, hard fought, Big Ten win. Illinois much improved on both sides, especially upfront. Nothing easy about that one.
Really happy to be 4-0 in Kinnick. Off to a good start. Lot of football ahead of us.
Happy for the recognition that Jordan has received. He really ran hard and determined. Phenomenal effort.
Captains same four guys: Ott, Lomax, Beathard, Blythe
Medically, the guys that didn't play Saturday - Tevaun, Boone, LeShun - we expect them to continue to be out. Ike had to leave the game Saturday and don't think we'll get him back this week.
Last night confirmed that Drew did tear his ACL, so he's going to be done here.
Great win, but worst part of coaching is injuries like that.
