First, I love the guy and think he has been wonderful for the State of Iowa and the program. He deserves to stay as long as he wants.

So, Kirk is now 67 years old...The style of play that he has excelled at over the years isnt viewed as "modern" anymore. It has moved to a more high risk high reward style. He is faced with a very tough situation where his son is the OC and the offense isnt producing. No one likes to have to remove a family member....but Barta may have the say in that one. The recruiting landscape has changed with the NIL issue. It is now harder to sell the program when you have other schools offering cash.

The thought process up until recently was that there was a potential that BF would be able to take over the program from Kirk. It would be a coach in waiting situation. That is for sure not an option now.

With the above said, how long will KF stay? I personally think 2 more seasons.

Thoughts?
