Kittle‘s bobble catch in Sunday’s game against the Cowboys is already the stuff of legend. Not only was it an incredible athletic play, but it was the play that the 49’ers absolutely had to have to pull out the game. After watching the play a few times, I’m just as amazed at the body control Kittle had AFTER he made the catch. There was a DB coming full speed and if George had not maneuvered at the last second, it might have been a devastating blow to the head. Nothing he does anymore surprises me. Hawk Central had a nice article on the catch. They also had a link to another article in the Washington Post about it. Not sure this will work unless you have a subscription.

That was a phenomenal catch! His focus after that bounced off his face mask to make the catch knowing he was going to get lit up in the catch! Truly impressed.

Saw video today that looks like he may have been an ineligible receiver. Looks like he was covered on the LOS by #44.
What often confuses people is that the NFL rule in practice is that your helmet has to break the beltline of the center to be on the line of scrimmage. Watch the clip again. He wasn't covered up. Juice was behind the LOS and his helmet doesn't break the center's beltline. Kittle and the tackle he's lined up next to is, but barely. Which is legal.

Irregardless, the Cowboys covered him - he just beat the zone coverage on the play. A lot of those videos and threads got deleted - the play was legal and its just sour grapes from people that don't understand the rule.

Well that movie career is getting closer… what a flat ending to their season. but what do you do when your 3rd string QB goes out? (Clearly, don’t turn to the 4th string guy…)

Trevon Diggs should have broken it up but he is too much of a pussy to actually hit anyone.
