Knock Knock. Who's there? 9-11. 9-11 who?

Do I think it boosted their sales, nope. Do I think it was intentional, nope. But, Just wanted to point out if you look at it a complete vacuum. It was widely successful because years later and you are still taking about it.

It was successful IF their intention was to be openly mocked nationwide, be forced to close their store for days after it aired, hire and train new employees (though I think the owner's daughter who made the commercial still works there), and likely led to a drop in sales.

However you define it, that isn't "successful" in business terms. Notorious maybe. Not the same thing, at all.

Do you think it boosted sales? Their FB page is pretty funny with the Houston flooding:

Kevin Hayden: Give it time, I'm sure they'll be mocking it.

Probably something along the line of "Swimming in savings" or "up to their neck in low prices" while showing someone drowning.

David Graham: "The top has blown off and we are drowning prices!" That the sales pitch?

Javier Elizarraras: Hurricane Harvey sale next week! "We're flooding our stores with new inventory" or "Our customers are drowning in low prices"

Do I think it boosted their sales, nope. Do I think it was intentional, nope. But, Just wanted to point out if you look at it a complete vacuum. It was widely successful because years later and you are still taking about it.

If it didn't increase sales it's not successful. And it was only one year ago.

Why do Budweiser and Coca-Cola spend millions of dollars to advertise at the Super Bowl every year? Those advertisements do not increase their sales at all.

What it does is helps maintain their brand recognition. Their brand is more valuable than their sales.

LOL...so "that mattress company somewhere that did that stupid 9/11 ad" is what constitutes "brand recognition"? And having THAT recognized as your brand constitutes "success"? You sure about that?

Guys, of all days, I would think today would be the day we could not inject politics into a 9/11 joke thread. We're better than that. Let's give today the proper respect it deserves.
You are talking about people that don't respect America, remember - the kneeling, the hatred of our flag, the waving of other country flags that people escaped from but for some reason still love... the partisan crap that is driving America down a long road of implosion.

The idea that those people have the freedom to do said things is the very reason that makes this country so great.

Sounds like something a typical socialist Nazi right wing progressive would say.
