Been a lot of speculation out there that Koll is bouncing out west due to the administration at Cornell. Cornell ran campus like a prison ward during covid and turned in koll and wrestlers to the ncaa for violation of “covid rules” for working out. Makes sense why dean left and hear Dake is next. I know everyone has an opinion about Pat Mineo but he’s usually right about these kind of rumors.

Why would anyone leave Ithaca for Palo Alto? Makes no sense.
As an Ivy League grad myself, those schools are both insane and not worth the cost. I honestly probably wouldn't send my kids there.

If true, good for west coast wrestling. However, doesn't this also potentially help psu if cornell does drop off?
I think it hurts PSU - Stanford, with Koll and Dake, will pick off some top recruits that would otherwise be PSU locks. Ithaca NY isn't exactly a happening place.
And maybe Stanford keeps the guys that were going to transfer.
Also saying Dake to NLWC. They must have done a trade for Nolf.
But will the infrastructure of the program remain in place without Koll? Gotta figure that if Koll is willing to leave, the powers that be aren’t too pleased, either. It would be good for the sport to have a Koll at Stanford.
How does he coach at Stanford and also participate with NLWC? Tell Pat to make up his mind.

Wrestling raised like what $10+ million and it wasn't really financial problems for why they cut the programs. Plus, I think some sports just shut down

I had the exact same thought. When I heard Koll was leaving, it seemed like Hahn would be a perfect fit. This is pretty weird.

I'm a SDSU fan too so I can't complain but I'm shocked. Bono left SDSU in absolute disarray. Hahn has elevated SDSU so much. Trust me, nobody at SDSU liked Bono when he left so it's understandable that he's falling apart at Wisconsin
Agree. Sooner or later, Eggum is going to have to produce. Keeping GS home gave him an extension, but fans have to be getting restless, imo.

The arrogance he displayed before Drew Foster and Dean’s NCAA Finals match in 2019 cemented Koll as my pick for the biggest douche-canoe in wrestling. My God Drew winning that match was awesome.

I sat with Rob Koll for a couple days at worlds in 2018 Budapest. He was actually really funny and cool to be around, we mainly just BS'd but he talked about his dad at UNI and told a few short stories. I'm a UNI grad. I guess I can see why people don't love him but after talking to him he seemed like a good guy lol.
Of all the coaches I met doing camps in high school, Koll and Tom Brands stood way above the rest in likability. He was super laid back and funny.
The Dean-Foster moment definitely came off super bad, but he was just ultra confident in his guy and spoke bluntly when they asked him about the gameplan. Not great, but not unprompted either. He just answered honestly. There's also just an extra level of intensity when you're talking to a coach during a match, let alone the ncaa finals. Could you imagine the things Terry would say in the same spot??? lol
I’m not sure about falling apart, but their performance has gotten worse since Bono took over.
Also had some issues with Askren, McD, Wick leaving. Don’t know if you’d characterize it as falling apart, but things have not gone well so far.
