I think Kreiner made strong case. He boxes out well, is little longer, can make bunnies, and he has some touch out to 15 feet. Uhl /Wagner are quicker, but neither is a sure thing to make a layup.

He is a good player and he showed that he is not afraid to step in. The problem is against more "athletic" bigs he can struggle. I liked his offensive game and he wasn't afraid of the two best bigs in the Big Ten. He went right at them and I was very impressed.

He definetly deserves more playing time moving forward.

..... and a good low post move. he does box out well and is big, and you can't coach that advantage .

Those three guys should be getting time based on match ups. I'd be playing Kreiner more than the other two. There are times when you need a big guy, and a time for more athletic smaller guys. Think Kreiner has the biggest upside and might be a very big handful in a couple of seasons.

I like that each of those three guys offer something a bit different and give Iowa more options against different types of players/playing styles. It's nice to have diversity and depth like this.

He needs some work on defense but all the freshmen do. His long arms certainly give us a rebounding boost.

I think Uhl is a better defender at this point. Kriener picked up 2 fouls in very minimal minutes.
Kreiner does play with more confidence on offense, but this team is really in need of guys who can play help defense and be in position to stop dunks. Uhl does lots of things that do not show up in the boxscore.

They all played pretty well.

Uhls dunk was nice and Wagner gave them some problems in pick n roll too but Kreiner looked like he knew what he was doing on offense.

No hesitation on when to shoot and he opens up the right way off picks which makes it easier for the guard to deliver the pass.

Uhl is a nice athlete, but severely lacks confidence. I'm hoping that improves throughout the season

I feel like Wagner and Cook have very similar styles, so if Kriener began to take anybody's minutes, Ahmad would be the seemingly obvious choice

Kriener is raw, but a nightmare for bigs to guard because they will have to chase him or give up 10-15 footers on the pick and pop. His move on the baseline was amazing. Just check in, playing Purdue, tight game and you make that move against Swanigan? Hope Fran rewards with more PT. He has the potential to be an X factor and get 8-10 just playing his game.

Funny......the end of the bench guy steps up and plays some ball!!!! AWESOME!!!!! Just what the hawks needed at that moment!

I do not think Uhl is a very good defender. Getting better, but not good. I didn't see any glaring issues in Kreiner's defense that experience won't solve. If he can consistently hit the 12-15 footer he is going to play ahead of Uhl and Wagner.

He does have some good moves. And for a big, he has a great outside shot. That'll wear out 90% of the bigs we face if he keeps it up.

His defense was phenomenal. I hope it wasn't a blip on the radar, as we can seriously use that play to compliment Cook & Pemsl... He was denying the lane to everyone. Which is so much needed by this team... He'll give our opponents just what they need, another person to scout. ;)

Not exactly an indication of future performance, but if you get to CHA early, watch Kriener in the shoot around. Guy has a great stroke and hits a high percentage out to 3. Initially I thought he might be Seth Gorney 2.0, but after last night, I think he may have the potential to be a Settles - Street type of player. He isn't a big guy with limited athleticism, which will benefit him as he fills out.

Agree, i think that performance earns him some minutes in the next game.

I can't remember when I felt this good about the youth of our team. I can't wait to see all of these freshmen play next year, as many say the improvement between fr & so years is the largest.

When Kriener's body matures along with continued work with Coach Maxwell he will be a very good player. Kid has high ceiling. Loved his defense and communication.
