Kris Murray is not ready for primetime as of 12/6/22

If he thought he saw tough defense tonight, just wait until Thursday night.
Agree.

Iowa State is a better team than Duke & they play much better defense.

I expect less than 10 points for Murray in the ISU game (including garbage points).

But I just hope he’s tough enough to get 7-8 shots up against Iowa State. Forget about the points.

A lot of this had to do with scheme. I felt like last year Fran set up plays to get Keegan in isolation or get some shots. It doesn't seem like he's doing that for Kris or maybe the players just aren't executing

Other people need to make shots otherwise you just double Kris. Same thing would have happened to Keegan last year, but guys like JBo were a threat to make the open shot.

They beat a number 1 team. We can't beat anyone with a pulse on a neutral court.
True, but N. Carolina hasn't played anywhere close to what a # 1 team should be. The clones are certainly a strong team and for Iowa to have a chance we have to shoot 40% or above from 3. Unfortunately, we don't seem capable of that this year.

So how did their coach get them into buying into playing defense? That doesn't show up in the stat sheet. How does that get them into the NBA? Not watched them,do they play an MSU style grabby defense?

I was expecting Sandfort to be deadly. He needs to get going!

Great question. I'd also like to know what's going on behind the scenes at Moo U,l. What is it about Lames that these studs find so appealing? Something smells fishy but maybe (probably) it's not.

Kris isn't even close to being as good as Keegan was and that's ok. It must be horrible having to live up to those types of expectations. It's pretty tough to be a lottery pick in the NBA. He's not going to take over games against big-time opponents.

It's got to be really hard to be a twin and following in the steps of your NBA brother

I mean they look alike, why can't they play alike?

I think we just need to settle down as fans and not expect Kris to be at the same level as his brother.

I think Kris is the one who needs to come to grips with it first. Or his head will float away like a hot air balloon. Unrealistic expectations!

He is with Kris but not executing

We all know that Jordan Bohannon was somewhat of a polarizing figure to many hawkeye fans and it was time for him to move on, but i will say a couple of things that this years team is missing from him:
1. his threat from distance helped our spacing of to the offense so much. passing lanes were bigger and cutting lanes were bigger.

2. no one was better at or worked harder at cutting to get open for his shot. That also opened things up by messing with the defensive rotations. The team this year does not have anyone close to this ability. In fact last year we had two guys that could do this in Keegan as well.

These two factors are not nearly as prevalent with this team. Peyton if he was hitting his shot would help, but so would anyone hitting their shot but not happening right now.

We do have the ability to drive some, but until we hit some layups that will not matter.

I am hopeful that as the season goes on we learn how to do some of these things better and also shoot better and things will look up.

As much as I thought Jordy was a johnson, I think he did bring intangibles to that team. This team is a nothing burger. I am sure all of the kids are decent, smart and great guys but come on, whose putting the fear or man into other teams?

Anyone remember Kent Hill on the inbound pass. I think he took one off the face once. Or Horton and Jay Burson. I know less thugs these days but Fran's players are always soft. Much like the ice cream at Carver.
