Kris Murray

That's a fantastic segment. Thank you so much for sharing this Kenyon! It sounds like he has such a good head on his shoulders. In addition to learning more about his skill set, I loved hearing about his work ethic and his appreciation for Chris Street and Hawkeye history. I'm looking forward to seeing him shine in the coming years. You should be very proud of Kris.

Great segment. I was an identical twin as well so I can relate to how your boys have grown together. Seem like great kids as well as terrific players with a bright future ahead. Did a great job with them Kenyon. Count me as a big fan.

I think we got a glimpse of what we can expect from Kris a few games ago when he was in late. If I recall correctly, didn’t he have a pretty nasty spin move to the bucket?

I may be misremembering but I just remember being surprised at his quickness/finesse. Definitely excited to see both players on the court more. Glad to have them at Iowa.

This was a great segment on Kris' potential at the University of Iowa. Love how Luka and Fran speak to the twins' as individuals, but also how their skill sets work together.
You always post positive, uplifting messages. Thank you for that.

If only the rest of the posters were like you and me, this forum would be a much better place.

;)

You've probably already answered this before but what are K and K's current height and weight? Is there a weight they'd like to get to? How much weight lifting are they doing or plan to do after the season?

They are 6’8.5 and Keegan is around 220lbs and Kris 215lbs. I would like them to gain maybe 10lbs of muscle. They have continued to lift throughout the season. Kris gets extra lifts in on team “off days”. My goal for them this summer is to get them personal basketball training (pro level) for them to continue to improve their first step explosion, ball handling skills and finishing at the basket. I have had various pro level trainers contact me to train them both.

Thanks, great info. Looking forward to their continued improvement. Do you know if other team members will have similar training (pro level) in the off season? The training has to really help.

I don’t know if they will. The Iowa coaches will be able to do some with them, but I am willing to do what KnK need to continue they upward trajectory in basketball.

Watching Keegan this year has been so much fun, hoping for lots more this year and next . I’m so looking forward to watching Kris as well. Wishing you and the family all the best. I hope they having fun , I haven’t missed watching a game this year. Thanks for bringing up Hawkeyes

How bout they spread these guys out a little more for the interviews...talk about background noise.
Keegan and Kris are pretty sharp kids, should be fun to see em on the court together.
(waiting for a link to the Kakert story so I can bust his chops about the unnecessary apostrophe in the Header)

I saw them play at Prairie, and correct me if I'm wrong, but wasn't Kris more of a ball-handler and distributor than Keegan? Keegan seemed to have a bit quicker 'hops' in the paint and more opportunities to score the ball.

Both were fantastic in HS and just seemed like they needed to finish "growing" before making that next step to a Power 5 school. Keegan has certainly shown he's more than capable at this level. It'll be nice to see Kris on the floor, too. I know he's going to succeed.

Thanks, Kenyon. I've been saying all along that I can't wait to see Kris get his share of playing time to show what he can do. Obviously, that time has arrived and I'm sure all Hawk fans are anxious to see both of them on the floor together.

There should be very few game situations, in meaningful time not mop up duty, in which 2 of Patrick/Keegan/Kris are not on the floor. Leftie's always seem a little awkward in their motions-cuz they're the opposite of the other 90%, but I'm telling you all Kris has a beautiful stroke. Kris is old for his class so I don't think it will take him long to find his game feet as a regular rotation player and once he does he is going to be outstanding.

Looking forward to seeing the team defense. Think people, including many Iowa opponents, will be shocked at the improved defense. The three kids above with Joey and Tony are going to be very disruptive and generate a lot of turnovers.

Like Murrays and ND transfer as the starting front line

Murrays r both look great defensively

And Fran likes to switch up on D, plays that 3-2 zone..... which requires the point man on the zone to have the ability to cover lots of ground

I don’t see that with our true “centers”, Josh and incoming Freshman

Honestly we don't know what we have in the two bigs. Josh O has talked at length about how he let his conditioning go when he was stuck back in London last summer, and he was not prepared when he arrived. Supposedly he has made great strides, and we'll need a wide body at times as well. He and Mulvey will still have a role against teams with bigs like Purdue always runs out.
