Kylie did say she might want to start her own thing. Maybe she needs capital to start that thing. This is where the new NIL/Rev Share could come into play for her decision.
Using the IA/Swarm as an example. There are 3 arms they can extract funds from:
1) Base/Charity Arm - might be $5k-15k/mo - different players could have different bucket amounts of more or less than another player based on a projection of All-American, 1st Team B1G, a starter, a reserve, etc etc.
2) Corp Inc Arm - unlimited to what you can negotiate with an unlimited # of corps like CC did.
3) Athletics/Rev Sharing Arm - $100k/yr + performance bonuses (ie over 750 points gets you another $25k, etc, etc).
#3 is what is unknown to the players right now. I suspect there are some or many waiting for this to take root 1st.
#1 and #2 can be found out now if they wanted and these arms can not have performance bonuses tied to them.
Now Iowa might designate $100k-$200k/yr to each player in women's basketball + performance bonuses. These numbers are unknown right now until the rulings come out in the next several months.
With Kylie, they might even say we'll pay you an additional performance bonus of an extra $250 for every charge you take. Just throwing out a player specific example here.
Again, depending on your motives and opportunities, this new Rev Sharing could put a hold on some players making decisions now. If they're smart, they'll wait for the ruling to come out 1st before they make a decision on what Iowa will pay out with its Rev Share plan.
If the Rev Share is only $40k to Kylie, then she may pass on that and move on.
Would be surprised if we got an answer before April 7th or whenever this decision is made and then Iowa makes their decision based off this ruling.
Main date for the Rev Share ruling is...
"After all, a final approval hearing of the House settlement is not scheduled until April 7."
In a way, college athletics enters the next phase of its evolution into a more professionalized entity this week as the early signing period opens up.

Bring this up because Jan said in a recent interview that no recruits have asked about academics in the last 6 months and question was centered around the context of NIL. This should be telling you what's driving player decisions now. I'm sure it's not everyone. However, according to Jan it's pretty clear NIL is driving most of the player decisions now.
