Larry Station on the Friday game

Some interesting insights about coach Fry's staff when Larry played for Iowa {Ferentz' temperament was "half-asleep").

Also, this insightful comment:

“The game can turn on a single play. Any given day, you can win or lose the game on one play.”

....and that is why Ferentz is so adamant about "execution" over the years, almost always after a loss. Iowa leads the B10 in TO margin IIRC and this correlates to their record IMO. Fewer mistakes, more wins .... not always but as a general principal it is true.

Actually the most interesting thing was scrolling down to the article on the Millard North coach Petito which included references to two of his quarterbacks ... Adam Shada and Tarp.

It's a small world sometimes ...

Ferentz the offensive line coach was laid-back. “Almost like half asleep,” Station said. Nothing fazed him. McCarney “was more like a volcano.”

I just wanted to add the whole quote and not just the "half-asleep" part.
