The wife is a Creighton alum and has decided she wants to go to the Las Vegas Invite. Has anyone attended before? Just looking for any kind of tips where to stay, tickets, etc. TIA

I’ve been twice...Orleans is a good venue and is a short Uber ride from anywhere on the strip.

Do they still run their shuttle between the Orleans and other related properties? We used to take that shuttle from the Orleans to the former Barbary Coast.

Orleans is close to south strip properties. FLights are expensive so you may have to make it a four or five day trip.

Also, is there a mid major tournament as well this year like last year? That will play a role in potential game times.

Flew from DM to LV for Thanksgiving a couple years ago for something different for the holiday. Flight was cheap. Was going to go to the invite this year, but in light of a new job, decided to hold off.

I have not lived in Vegas for nearly ten years but allegiant, (sp?), airlines use to be reasonable. On the strip the Monte Carlo had decent rates. Off the strip Palace Station was decent.

Problem with Allegiant is they usually only fly certain days of the week to various locations, nickel and dime you, and can be unreliable.

I'm not sure on their rooms, but their casino floor has really improved recently. Decent sized sports book and easy to navigate as well.

My only concern is that Iowa will be playing the same time as the football game. Was really hoping football would be 11am CST.

I have a brother in Las Vegas. I am considering wintering there this year after last years brutal winter. I don’t know whether to drive or trust the bus system as he lives 6-7 miles from strip and downtown. Would be nice to see the Hawks out there.

Referring to the Park MGM above, I thought they had a pretty good price. Then noticed the fine print - $37 a day resort fees!!! Yikes. I knew they had been getting worse, but that is crazy. And travelocity had no option to search for a place with no fees, so that makes figuring cost more difficult.

Uber or Lyft is crazy cheap out there.

Yeah, the resort fees are getting crazy...and the hotels usually wont waive them for anyone who hasn't reached a certain status with their rewards programs.

Flew to Vegas once on Allegient. Never again.

True, but then you are looking at 2 Uber/Lyft trips each day to see the games.

The Orleans does not have their rate schedule out for November yet, which is insane.

You can book it. Just go their website and go to the upper right hand corner that says book now. Do not try to book the promotional rates as those aren’t available.

As a frequent flier of MGM properties I have some free nights I will be using.

I'm a Caesars guy, so I would stay there if needed, but I will probably be living in Vegas by the time the tournament gets here.

$93 a night right now. Wednesday-Saturday. Probably where I will stay.
$28 per night resort fee also.

Every hotel on the strip has a resort fee. $37/ is one of the better to avg prices.

Get a players card at the hotel. MLife or Total Rewards and document what money you spend at the hotel/property. Often they will comp the resort fees.

Flew to Vegas on Allegiant many times and flew to Vegas United many times. The only noticeable difference to me, Allegiant is a direct flight and their flight times are horrible.

Crack of dawn or late at night for Allegiant

Unfortunately that’s usually the case. That’s how Allegiant keeps their prices low by getting crappy off times at the airport. The trade off is a direct flight.

Two of us went to Vegas in May for $210 round trip. That’s pretty damn good. Stayed the Park MGM too.

I have always had good luck with Allegiant. Feel fortunate. I do have co-workers who have had bad luck.
