In all seriousness, Brody has less than four months to make his mark as a Hawkeye wrestler. I’m pulling for the young man but I don’t think it works out at 141. I hope I’m wrong but I’m not sure Brody’s will be effective down at 141 a weight he hasn’t seen since high school which was over five years ago. We will see soon. Brody could go down as Iowa’s biggest could of, should of, would of guy.

Seriously. I don't think Grouthus was even a top 100 recruit. He has started and wrestled for one of the greatest programs ever. He has beat top guys. He is hardly a woulda shoulda coulda. It is not like he was a top 5 recruit that came out and pinned 15 guys in a row to start his freshman year and then never AAs.

Can you imagine if Andrew Alton had lived up to his promise? Penn State might have won four straight championships! Ah well, water under the bridge.

taketop, take this to the brody grothus thread...

Is it me or has taketop been rallying against Grothus for a few months now. Is he Topher Carton's dad?

Not just you...Taketop, at his heart, is a western PA guy...not necessarily an Iowa fan, but a fan in general. Taketop, feel free to correct me if I'm wrong. So if Grothus doesn't pan out, it will be an I Told You so moment. It's like Flying Tiger, who has to remind us every month that Brody put himself in the hospital (sure he went in to get fluids) trying to cut weight.

Ah. He's one of those "wishful thinking" guys. I will remember that.

If Long would have done what Jackson and Iowa State wanted him to do he most likely would not have jail time on his record..Ah well, water under the bridge like u say.

I think the first title psu won will always be tainted bc of Long. Cael preaches about being a good person before wrestling(I don't doubt he believes and enstills that). He then brings long over mid season and wins the title. They would not have won without him. It was no secret to anyone that he had a serious alcohol and drug problem at that time. He gets 3rd and continues down the same path and ends up going to prison a few months later.

Is this where we bait the beloved PSU crowd over and then bitch about them?

Cause if it is... bring those punks on!
