Last day to enter the transfer portal?

Players can enter it any time. I don't think it ever closes.

The issue you would run into is finding a new spot and getting registered for 1st semester classes.

So JT, Ulis, or Perkins can enter anytime? Yikes
So, your assumption is since Jordan has since stated his return to the team for a sixth year as a player, to be used as needed. Toussaint, Ulis and Perkins are going to add their names to the portal because they're pissed that JBO returned. Got it!
Does this mean that Ogundele will enter the portal and Mulvey will decommit because Filip Rebraca committed and signed with the Hawks for the next 2 years....same stupid paradox.

I mean do you think it helps the cause for the guards? If I’m JT, Perkins, or Ulis I wouldn’t have been happy to see a dude that takes up a bunch of minutes come back for his sixth year, his SIXTH, of college especially when it seemed like the torch was passed.

Entirely different scenarios.

Of course we're not privy to what's going on with the team and these conversations, but as outsiders I think this is a reasonable question.
If all you had to go on was what Fran has actually done to date with lineups and playing time it's not unreasonable to think that JBo could see 30 minutes a game.

And for JT to continue to have a short leash

Entirely different scenarios.
How is it different? Both Jordan and Filip will be taking minutes away from roster players that assumed they would be getting more minutes then Fran may have available for them now.
Just saying it's different doesn't make it so, but carry on, if it makes you feel better.

Maybe. I'd look at JBo taking mostly minutes that CJ would have gotten. And, assuming Rebraca is going to play the 5, I'd assume Fran has been up front with Mulvey and Josh O about their standing this year. I mean, Nunge was going to be expected to take the minutes at the 5 before his transfer. It's not like either Mulvey or JO would have expected, at the end of the season, to get 30 mpg.

Now, anyone else that might get added, that could be a concern.

Not necessarily. If JBo logs 25-30 minutes a game at the 2 where does that leave Perkins? I was really hoping to see a lot more of him this year, hopefully getting significant time at the 2. He'd be a shortish 3. Is he suited for the traditional 1 role as primary ball handler?
None of us know what Fran will do with the distribution of minutes. What we do know are the things he's done to date, one of which is play JBo a lot of minutes even when he was ineffective offensively and continued to be soundly thrashed on the D end. Will that suddenly end this upcoming season?

We will see. I can see a lot of trash lineups with Connor and Jbo in the backcourt

If the reporting and JBo is to be believed, Fran recruited JBo back to be the 2 and not only was JBo recruited back as the 2 with Toussaint starting at PG, JBo wanted to ensure the team was good with him coming back.

I get the hesitation, but I could see a team that’s fun to watch if Iowa has Joe at the 1 with a mix of really long, athletic guys and JBo as the sniper. You can’t leave Jordan open to camp out at the 3 line, so that pulls one out of the lane and just about everyone else on the floor will be able to slash to the basket.

I don’t trust Fran at all

What if, after entering the portal, you are not offered? Do you return to your former school, no hard feelings?
And what if your scholly has been given away?
Will there be ships without a port?

It’s all about the relationship and the communication. A lot of guys have entered the portal and then come back. I assume there’s some degree of communication in those scenarios. I’m also sure there are some that wind up high and dry.

Remember that it’s not always about being pissed. Sometimes the numbers just haven’t gone your way or the program has recruited over you. If you’re Alex Padilla and Spencer Petras locks himself firmly into the starting QB role with Deuce Hogan charging hard to be the guy that follows, you might just want to transfer somewhere else to play.
