Why no trap on Carr? You have to make someone else make the shot to tie and maybe even foul with the three point lead. Then with the game tied and Iowa taking the ball out, why no Joe T. He is the one guy who can go the length of the court in that much time and make something happen. If you want Jordan to take the shot then leave Joe T. on the floor to set him up. Lots of opportunities to put the game away before that (missed free throws, etc.), but those last few seconds came down to coaching decisions.

On 1st point, I agree with you. I don't think Iowa (coaches and players) expected Joe T to miss both FTs with 14 seconds left. Players were caught off guard and were not prepared to trap or foul. It seems like they were content not to foul or need to be told to trap and/or foul. That's just my observation.

I would agree that getting the back to Joe T to speed up court with 5 seconds left would have been a good choice. A lot of options are open at that point.
