Leadership matters and Real Test ahead

Iowa is 3-0 and wow, what a bitter-sweet start to 2015.

Kirk Ferentz has Iowa focused and has implemented change, thus far for the better.

He made a wise decision in January. It was the only real option.

He tweeked the Leadership Group, which has been the biggest key thus far.

C.J. Beathard shared that leadership was lacking in the past. The pictures at Kinnick were amazing last night.

What a start to 2015 ... however, the most important game each season really is the B1G opener. It will be in Madison, as weel.

This Saturday, a Iowa Homecoming of sorts as Dan McCarney, with QB Andrew McNulty return to Iowa City.

It would be nice to see Iowa play a solid, injury free game at Kinnick. Iowa should start 4-0, but 5-0 is the real answer. Actually, it is 6-0 heading into what I believe is a bye week.

QB C.J. Beathard is 4-0 and continues to have career games each week.

RB Jordan Canzeri had a career game, again.

WR Jacob Hillyer had a career game, as did TE Henry Kreiger Coble. Tevaun Smith passed 1,000 yards and Matt VandeBerg is connected well with C.J.

Iowa's offensive line is a work in progress. C Austin Blythe had two big penalties, but at the same time anchored the OL and has been outstanding in short yardage plays.

Iowa's special teams are playing at a high level. We have a lot of potential there.

The defense will have to continue to improve, since the opponents get better in B1G play.

Hats off to the coaching staff, since January.

peace
