as of this evening my summary after stepping back is
1. 75+ countries have teams in washington negotiating renewed trade deals
2. there’s a 10% tariff on everyone (minus china) to keep some pressure on them to negotiate quickly but without inflicting serious damage
3. there’s a upgraded 125% tariff on china that’s got to be increasing heat on a day by day basis on them to negotiate
4. stock markets overall seem to have absorbed all this and at end of the day off by about 5% for the year

if trump wasn’t tweeting all the time and we only got to see where markets closed for the day there would be little effect on our mental and financial health but where’s the fun in that
