Like the Muslim-Hindu India migration of late 1940's, should ethnic Russians move east and Ukrainians move west in the Dombas east region of Ukraine?

I am sure Ukrainians do not want to lose or give up any territory to Russia. I have heard that a lot of people living in far eastern Ukraine are much more ethnic Russians (not sure how they decide this, language I suppose). So can you see the Dombas 20% of eastern Ukraine being split about in half and giving the eastern 10% to russia in a peace deal?

I also think that even if Ukraine isnt given Nato membership for 20 years there could be a Nato boots on the ground to protect Ukraine from future attacks as part of a peace deal.

And no one has mentioned all the Ukrainian gets kidnapped by russia and being indoctrinated in Russia. They need to be returned which is probably a huge deal for Ukrainians.

Personnally, I want russia out of all of Ukraine your thoughts?

In an ideal scenario, Russia woul be expelled from all of Ukraine. But the war has proven that goal to be unrealistic.

At this point, a land mass swap for the areas each army controls in the other's land would he appropriate.

As tough as it is to accept, Russia retains ethnic Russian areas in the east.

UN peacekeepers, consisting of countries that were not involved in the conflict, to control a buffer zone. No U.S. funds for this.

No NATO membership.

I was always struck by the obvious bifurcation in this map (2010 presidential election).
The ‘Trumpiest’ county in Florida flirted with close to 80% Trump support in the last election. Seeing these places well beyond that (in both directions) is something I haven’t seen paralleled.

nice find on the vote. The pragmatic way might be to have russia take about half of that deep blue/purple area on the East.

But this is 2010, and perhaps a lot of those voters are a lot less pro russian now. The buffer zone with peace keeping troops is a good idea. Also russia should remove any war machine from that territory for 20 years or some time. Ukraine should get back the big power plants and Mariupol
