Whenever a coach says he didn't know what was going on, I am not going to believe him.

Roy Williams said he did not know what was going on with the academic fraud that occurred at North Carolina. I don't believe him.

Rick Pitino said he had no idea high end recruits were being paid to come to Louisville. I don't believe him.

And Little Ricky did not know what his dad was up to at Louisville? I don't believe him.

From the Minneapolis Star Tribune:

"I know you guys are interested in talking about my dad's situation," Richard Pitino said. "The biggest thing with that is it's family. He's my dad. I love him, I care for him, I want what's best for him. I'm here for him. I just want him to be happy.

"It's been a tough week for our family."

Richard Pitino said he didn't know about any of the allegations against Louisville, where he coached for three seasons from 2007-2009 and 2011-12. The allegations on paying a recruit focus on the past year.

The probe is taking on corruption both in college basketball and in the dealings between leaders in the sport and shoe companies. The aftershocks of this week's news will be felt for some time.

"I think it's bad and good," Richard Pitino said Friday. "I think probably short-term it's not very good. But maybe in the long term it might be better. It's not good for anybody right now. I only know what I read, so you never know what the truth is with all that stuff. It's never good when you hear any of those things about your game. Hopefully, it's something that in the long term we might benefit from it."

i would like to know how he got that kid from NYC to come to Minnesota

You can't tell me he didn't know what his dad was up to and that he didn't use the same tactics when he became a head coach himself

Maybe daddy-o has been sending the left overs that he doesn't have room for on his roster.

These guys know. Any head coach knows exactly what is going on in his program.
If not, he should be fired, since thats why he gets the big bucks. I assume thats why they put in the new "No plausible deniability clause" rule. I guess you could just call it the Pitino rule though.

Even though this is the rule, Pitino and his lawyer are still fighting it

Pitino doesn't want to lose his lofty seat in the Hall of Fame or have any national championships taken away.

I forget. Where did Sherman Dillard work before he came to Iowa? Asking for a friend.

So anyone and everyone that works for a shoe company is a crook? Just, drop dead you idiot. There is NOTHING wrong with hiring a guy who was a head coach himself, and later worked for NIKE. You've got a ton of nerve even showing up and trolling considering the history of Minnesota and the questions about your current coach.

You must have gopher brains yourself.

typical Gopher fan; they think all programs cheat and they feel bad that they were the ones who got caught and had to vacate their 1997 season

and now their Head Coach's dad turns out to be the sleaziest college basketball coach in the history of the game (is there any doubt?); and yes, the apple does not fall far from the tree, and Gopher fans are afraid that might just be the case

Little Ricky Pitino said he had no idea this was going on at Louisville; does anybody believe him? How could you believe him when RIck Pitino is his dad?

I'm not crazy about Richard, but it doesn't seem like his coaching success reflects a lot of cheating- maybe an employment opportunity because of his brand name last name. He's not a totally incompetent coach. I think what you see is what you get.

The irony here is awesome. Read this whole thread is nothing but insinuations and baseless conclusions but a coach hires someone who worked directly for the show companies that all the trouble surrounds and that is of course deserves no scrutiny. My point was nobody knows who, where or what is clean in college basketball. Not even you friend. I'll go drop dead now. God bless. ( note. It's college basketball. Relax Francis)

Again, the irony. Good luck guys. Read this thread and of course a Gopher fan is the one out of line.

If you didn't quite drop dead yet, go out with this thought in mind. Your coach is the guy who worked three years beside his Dad, the biggest crook in College Basketball, and claims not to know anything.

Shove that up your irony.

Amen, brother.
