LMPD declares state of emergency ahead of Breonna Taylor decision

You really should find another hill to die on as there are many other legit police shootings that can be defended. This ain’t it.
Not only was the cop shot at first but the thug actually shot a cop as he came through the door then the police returned fire

Why are people so stuck on that one where charges against cops are concerned? It's more indicative of poor police policy than an instance of egregious behavior by a cop. No knock warrants are problematic, so fix that.

The city paid her family 12 million for the mistake.
Really. If your daughter was killed by police and they awarded you $12M, you’d be fine with that with no prison time for the murderers?

This doesnt even make sense. Did Soros fund dozens of radical leftist DA's around the country that enable riots ? you bet he did and i can list them.

"original thoughts" , is that in contrast with facts that hurt your ears ?
Are you void of logical thought? I te end to think you don’t.

I'm not sure murder charges are appropriate here. I don't know the details of the raid, but I'm guessing the people performing it had no way to know that they were at the wrong house and were just doing their job.

Some sort of criminal negligence charge for the people who set up the raid seems more appropriate to me. With the $12 million dollar settlement it sounds like the city (on behalf of the officer...at least I'm guessing it's the city's liability insurance that would be covering that) is taking responsibility for their part of the tragedy.

It just sucks that these sorts of incidents are so common that people are having difficulties looking at individual instances and are grouping them all together. While that should be done in a conversation about why we need major police training reform, when it comes to criminal charges I think it's a different story.
I’m sick of tax payers fixing our police issues. Perhaps a portionate amount also subtracted from the PD pensions would help with their issues of misconduct.

When someone is right, and says the obvious, they have no rebuttal they just get triggered and attack someone's character.

Just another day cesspool gonna cesspool.

Protesters in Austin, Texas; Tempe, Ariz.; and Portland, Ore., took to the streets in their respective cities to march in step with the Black Lives Matter movement. In some instances, police and federal agents clashed with protesters, but in one demonstration, protesters paid their respects to one of their own in Texas.
Calls for drastic criminal justice and police reforms have swept the country since the death of George Floyd, but local prosecutors already are making waves on that front — in a sign that under-the-radar political investments made by progressive groups in recent years are paying off.
District attorneys and current candidates whose campaigns benefited from the work of left-wing organizations – including ones backed by liberal billionaire George Soros – are now pushing for new practices that could see sharp reductions in prosecutions and incarcerations.
Soros, through the Justice & Public Safety PAC
and other groups, has been spending millions of dollars on prosecutorial races in recent years, with a number of beneficiaries making headlines since their elections.
St. Louis Circuit Attorney Kim Gardner, who was boosted by Soros in her campaign, drew controversy when she announced her office was bringing felony charges against Mark and Patricia McCloskey, the couple who brandished guns outside their home as protesters marched by in June.
The McCloskeys have said many times they were defending themselves, with tensions high in St. Louis and other cities over race and law enforcement. They said the crowd of demonstrators broke an iron gate marked with “No Trespassing” and “Private Street” signs, and that some threatened them.
Missouri GOP Gov. Mike Parson said he would consider pardons for the couple if charges were filed.
Another high-profile prosecutor who has been backed by Soros in the past is Cook County, Ill. State’s Attorney Kim Foxx. Foxx drew national attention when she dismissed the case against actor Jussie Smollett, who had been accused of faking a hate crime attack against himself. The case was later taken over by a special prosecutor who filed new charges.
Foxx is seeking reelection this year and already won her Democratic primary. Regarding ongoing protests in her jurisdiction, she has said that her office will lean toward dismissing cases coming from protests or curfew violations (Mayor Lori Lightfoot imposed a curfew between May 30 and June 6 after a George Floyd protest).
“The question it comes down to is, is it a good use of our time and resources?” Foxx told the Chicago Sun-Times. “No, it’s not.”
Looking at her term in office, a report from the Law Enforcement Legal Defense Fund found a 13 percent decline in guilty pleas or verdicts in felony cases and a 39 percent increase in dropped or lost cases after Foxx took office in 2016.
San Francisco District Attorney Chesa Boudin, another beneficiary of Soros-tied contributions, recently defended the movement to defund police.
In a discussion with Rep. Ayanna Pressley, D-Mass., earlier in July, Boudin questioned whether money going to police was “the most effective” use of taxpayer dollars.
“Is there some other way we could spend this money that would make us safer or do a better job of achieving the goals that we have?” Boudin asked. He went on to say that policing and incarceration “are tremendously expensive and are failed responses to what we are trying to deal with.”
Boudin is also one of a number of district attorneys participating in “Truth, Justice and Reconciliation Commissions,” teaming with the Grassroots Law Project, an organization co-founded by activist Shaun King that calls for defunding police.
The other district attorneys who are participating in these commissions are Philadelphia DA Larry Krasner and Suffolk County, Mass., DA Rachael Rollins, who have both benefited from Soros’ support.
Krasner, who was elected after Soros put $1.45 million into a political action committee that supported him,
has also taken a public stance regarding events that have spun out of the protests over Floyd’s death, particularly the federal response to violent demonstrations in cities like Portland.
In a Washington Post op-ed he co-wrote with Baltimore DA Marilyn Mosby, Krasner threatened to have federal officers arrested and charged if they overstep their authority in his jurisdiction, after officers in Portland were accused of using excessive force.
“Should Trump send federal agents who engage in the same illegal vigilante activities, unlawfully assaulting and kidnapping people, they will face criminal charges from our offices,” Krasner and Mosby said.
In Contra Costa County, Calif., District Attorney Diana Becton – also backed by Soros – changed how her office handles police shooting cases, removing deputy district attorney Barry Grove from his role as the main prosecutor in such cases, switching to a team approach, according to the Mercury News.
Becton also announced earlier this month that she was filing hate crime charges against Nichole Anderson and David Nelson, white people who were allegedly caught painting over a Black Lives Matter mural.
Orlando State Attorney candidate Monique Worrell is also backed by a group linked to Soros in her quest to fill the seat that will be vacated by Aramis Ayala, who was also supported by Soros. Worrell’s platform calls for an end to cash bail, which would result in more defendants being released before their trial.
She also says that incarceration should be a “last resort,” and that those who do not pose “a threat to the physical safety of others” should not be placed behind bars.

If I were an insurance company I would have gladly started allowing business insurance policies to expire over the last few months with no renewal option. Charges not being brought was predictable and the millions in damages this week or next should have been foreseen.

Mayor Greg Fischer announced Friday that Louisville Metro Police is initiating termination of officer Brett Hankison, one of three officers to fire weapons at Breonna Taylor’s apartment, killing her.

Taylor was shot by officers at her apartment on March 13 as they entered to serve a no-knock warrant. Her boyfriend, Kenneth Walker, fired a shot as officers entered, thinking they were intruders, and Taylor was shot eight times in the ensuing gunfire from officers.

Taylor lived in an apartment on Springfield Drive, and her boyfriend, Kenneth Walker, was inside with her when LMPD officials said the officers arrived and announced themselves even though the conditions of the no-knock warrant did not require them to do so.
The warrant listed Taylor and two men named Adrian Orlandes Walker and Jamarcus Glover. Investigators said both men were under suspicion of trafficking drugs.
A detective told the judge he believed Glover was using Taylor’s apartment as part of a trafficking ring, shipping drugs there to avoid detection.

The investigation described surveillance cameras at another address on Elliot Avenue, where Glover and Walker are accused of selling drugs, hiding packages and seeing as many as 20 cars pull up in a span of an hour.
The warrant said Glover and Walker were seen driving a red Dodge Charger listed in the warrant to Taylor’s house on multiple occasions.

During the raid at Taylor’s apartment, a man named Kenneth Walker allegedly shot one of the officers, forcing them to return fire, striking and killing Taylor. Any possible connection between Adrian and Kenneth Walker is not currently known.
Facts don't matter bc she was black and people like saying Breona Taylor.

i really dont understand the false narrative. If you are dealing drugs out of your house, police have a warrant and come through the door-thugs fires and shoots officer-police return fre and one of the wanted suspects is killed in the crossfire.

Tragic but not criminal behavior on the part of the police.

Well funded , orchestrated radical left just looking to burn, loot and destabilize

That’s not even close to the truth. God damn how the **** do mods here let people spill this fake news. Seriously gfy.
What bullshit have you been gobbling up and who's your source, LeBron? Beyonce? This is a decent summary by a local news station who has seen actual documents in the case.

Plenty of misinformation peddled in this thread. Might be helpful to actually read about the timeline of events that led to the warrant, the execution, and the subsequent coverup. Because, clearly, the false narrative(s) that the police are in no way culpable have no basis in reality. Criminal charges may not come but that is mostly due to laws that give police an absurd amount of leeway in the performance of their duties and qualified immunity; not because they did nothing wrong. This incident is a case study in police corruption.
You're delusional.

It's okay to just skip the code words and say that the Jewish cabal is out to get us and they are using the scary darkies to do it. I mean, it's insane, but just be honest enough to just say what you are saying.

sorry but George Soros is pouring huge amounts of money into radical leftist groups seeking to destabilize this country. I documented that above.
It’s absurd and dishonest to try to censor the mention of his name

Not happening

Soros is a scumbag who is an expert at color revolutions.

he is not a deity above criticism. He needs to be prosecuted by the justice department

Dude, just say it. You want to say it. You believe it. Have some balls and don't let political correctness get in the way.

Woulda been a great idea for Trump to have his DOJ prosecute Soros before he could give all his money away to rioters in 2020, no? I wonder why he didn't have anyone look into that? Seems like a poor choice to lead our country to not have thought of that.

He was too busy building a wall, cutting spending, reducing the trade deficit and locking up Hillary.

ya, color revolutions dont exist.

Childish nonsense. Soros was heavily involved in the Orange color revolution, read a book.

So did the cop that shot the 10 rounds do so because he was fired at first?

Because if so, what was he supposed to do. Whip out a taser

He is supposed to not kill unarmed women. How many kids would have died had they been there? Would that have been OK too?

Taylor was named in the warrant, her residence was under surveillance for trafficking drugs.

A massive riot will really hurt the momentum Biden has been building lately. Hope everything stays peaceful.
