If you had to lose your non-dominant arm and have it replaced by either a regular-size baby arm or a large, human-size lobster claw for the rest of your life, which would you choose?

Note 1: You are not allowed to eat your new arm, whichever you choose. The old arm remains fair game.

Note 2: The baby arm will never grow to be an adult-size arm; it will remain the size

Note 3: The strength of your lobster claw is comparable to your regular strength.

Note 4: The lobster claw would be the color of the lobster claw out in nature, not people color.

The technology to make robot replacement arms will occur in my lifetime. The national conversation around people detaching their limbs for Inspector Gadget-like equipment and extensions will be really fascinating.

I’m sorry. What was this thread about?

Does the lobster claw have lobster claw esq torque and crushing abilities or is it roughly the same strength as a human arm?
I think the strength of the lobster claw should be roughly commensurate with the strength of the person wielding it. So if you're pretty strong, then the claw could be formidable. If you're not, then your pinching could still be firm, but you're not severing peoples' parts.

I would give up my non-dominant arm for a high-quality inspector gadget arm

@WorldSeriesChamps2015 would be better off with the baby arm then

The claw arm is at least somewhat useful and you can hold things with it. Baby arm is too small to be of much help so I will go with the claw.

Lobster arm for wreaking havoc on Husker and Gator fans. I think the ladies would prefer freakish in that direction vs being with a guy with a little baby left arm. Flying would suck though.

Can the baby arm be as strong as I am now? Cuz that might change my answer

Baby arm, who would want to look like a freak?
If we are going with other options, I'd take a hook for a replacement. It looks menacing.

That's a harder question for me than not making an over-powered lobster claw.

If you have a baby arm with your own strength, it would be funny to be in a bar and beat someone arm wrestling, using the baby arm.

So basically just a mitten on my right hand. I’ll go with that.

You see the pic that mnole added above? I imagine it being like that, with lobster arm joints going down to the big, oversize claw.

With a baby arm, at least you can tuck it into your shirt and keep it hidden. I feel like only having one arm would be received by people a lot better than the big lobster claw. That claw could be useful though if you've got things that need pinching.

Then I would definitchoose the lobster arm. And eat the shot out of it at some point. I wonder is it would grown back like a stone crab claw.

WTH can you do with a "baby arm" aside from do T-Rex impressions?

Lobster claw? Yeah...that'd come in handy snapping the arms & necks of people who pissed you off in a bar.
