Long passing game is close!

Stanley is starting to do more on offense, Scrambling, rolling out to extend the pocket running more and is hitting the receivers in step on the deep passes. this is a combination between the receivers and CJ getting on the same page,

Looked more like it is there. Not close to getting there. Only thing missing is something resembling a run game.

Stanley missed seeing a wide open Easley down the middle on one play, so it certainly looks like they're better at being open. Drops are certainly very untimely, and penalties

I think the only way to open the run game is to come out throwing like we did when all RBs went down with ?Stanzi. Then when things open up, feed Wadley.

Yes he is starting to put it together.

The main thing he needs to work on is knowing when to tuck it and get 5 yards when it is available. Think it was the 2nd series he rolled out on a 3rd and 4 and looked like he had plenty of room to scramble but hesitated and ended up throwing it away. Those are big plays to extend drives and will need that going forward.

Stanley is a good one and always was even when he missed on some of the long passes. It's the receivers who are inconsistent. It always seems to be a flip of the coin whether easely or Vandy or Fant or ism decide to catch the ball or whiff on it. For all his elegance and speed, Fant is a terribly unreliable TE (and TEs should imo be the most reliable receiving option in a offense like iowa's) at least compared to guys like myers and Hkc and Kittle.

The pass he threw to ISM was one of the best passes he has thrown as a Hawk.
So True, thats why stats can be misleading. It goes down as an interception,(even though it wasn't), on a very well thrown ball. Mr Stanley threw the ball very well, and kept plays alive in the pocket. Very happy with his progression since the season started. Keep it going Nate!
