I was a proponent of Connor all year but he needs to be done. Go find a 3 and D transfer to replace him. A Tony Perkins who can consistently make 3s is what this team desperately needs. All our guys are either or. You either have a jbo or weezy or a Joe t or Perkins. Get someone who is adequate at both please.

-The starting 5 would be far better defensively with Joe, healthy Nunge, and Keegan starting.
-Still would have sharpshooters with CJ and Wieskamp to spread the floor, and Keegan is too good for a bench role, and his shooting ability on the floor would exceed Connor's too.
-Connor's skill as an effective post passer is not as important with Nunge starting instead of Garza.
-A healthy CJ should score more, looking more like his redshirt freshman year. He was not the same player this year.

Yep. Fran can't recruit for shit. He got really lucky with Garza, otherwise a bunch of marginal P5 recruits outside of Iowa kids like Patrick and Weezy.

CMAC had his shot...he should go off to play baseball and come back as grad assistant to get into coaching. No need for a post feeding specialist next year with Nunge having little back to basket post game.

I don't think they will get into NCAA next year, but if they did, they will at least field a team that can play
some semblance of defense.

I think next year's team makes the NCAA tournament with or without Wieskamp. Murray is a legit star in the making, CJ is a great perimeter scorer (needs to be more selfish), and Nunge is a very good player. There's enough talent around those three players to make the NCAA tournament. If Wieskamp comes back, I think they could get as high as a 3-seed, with a 5-6 seed more likely. Without Wieskamp, I'm thinking 8-10 seed.

Another year of college will do Joe no good. He’s a projected 2nd round pick which means he likely goes. Probably like you said ends up G league or Europe. After watching him today against high level athletes it’s not encouraging.
