Looks like Biden Administration will be forced to do their job regarding illegal immigration.

Except there is no tomorrow for these people if the Supreme Court rules as expected. They will be deported from the only country they’ve ever known. Who says we have to do the border first? Is that written somewhere
No, but all the other immigration issues are a direct result of the open border. Seems like a good idea to stop the bleeding before worrying about anything else.

Here is what will happen. Democrats will grant more funding for border enforcement and republicans will refuse to do a deal on dreamers. Fact of the matter is that closing the border is basically impossible. Many of the so,unions put forward by republicans are constitutionally impossible.

Obvious things don't have to be written,... When you have a plumbing leak the first thing you do is shut off the water..
Ok then. What do you do to close the border? How? The wall doesn’t work. You can’t immediately deport as it is unconstitutional in many cases. What do we do? Republicans and democrats have shown no real appetite in cracking down on employers. What do we do? The only real answer republicans have is to build a wall that won’t work, kick out asylum seekers, which is unconstitutional, and deport dreamers, which has no effect on long term immigration.

You begin by enforcing the laws we currently have on the books,.. You arrest, fine and potentially even imprison employers of illegal labor, You locate and expel visa overstays, You filter out the 80% unqualified asylum seekers and send them back home, You finish the wall in areas where it makes sense to aid in policing the border against illegal drug and human trafficing,... These things would at least be a good start.

I'm looking forward to the Republicans working with Joe to come up with a solution to the border...it's about time because it has been a problem for decades. I'm sure Republican leaders have wonderful solutions to so many of our issues.

How about we fix one issue first, closing the border. All other issues can be identified and negotiated after that. Enough of the ya-buts and what-abouts.

I thought trump stopped that problem with the wall that Mexico would pay for.

We want to live by the rule of law. Congress could have used the word "may" when talking about detention. That would offer a level of discretion. They used the word "shall".

There are hundreds of shall laws on the books. Courts have typically allowed both parties discretion on how to prioritize their enforcement because we can't fund them all.

Should be an interesting opinion.
