The short version is that his NLI is still binding.

He could stay at IWCC and get his degree and the NLI wouldn't matter at all and go wherever he wants.Couldn't be leave and sit out a year as a red shirt? Just curious.
Somehow I don't think that would be the best course of action for the young man.He could stay at IWCC and get his degree and the NLI wouldn't matter at all and go wherever he wants.
Saban does not have the dignity or ethical standards to withdraw or apologize. If that were so, he would never had made the offer in the first place.IMO the right thing for Saban to do is pull the offer and say oops sorry Kirk.
I think you're right with regard to Bama. My concern is that Nixon could ask for a release. If he gets it, half of the other teams in the top 10 could offer now that he may be a hot commodity. If he doesn't get the release, we get the Kirk's a jerk narrative.Saban doesn't have a choice. Once a violation is committed with a recruit, the offending team must cease recruiting that kid. Unless they want the NCAA to hit them with some sort of penalty. This is a secondary violation at present. The way Bama recruits, one player isn't worth getting their tit in a wringer. And there is no grey area in this type of violation. This isn't the kind of deal where the NCAA looks away and Bama gets their way.

I'd agree. On one hand, it does no good to have a kid on the team who doesn't want to be there, so I'd say let him go. BUT, because this is Bama or any other blue blood who always gets their way, I say stick to your guns Kirk. Even if Nixon comes in pissed and never plays, it would be better the bending over for Saban. In this instance it bigger then just one players recruitment, its a chance to show the royalty that they can't always get their way.Kirk needs to be a jerk here. Even if for some reason Nixon had a bad attitude it would take about 3 minutes to remind him this is his chance to get into the NFL.
Not in this case. I think once tampering has been ruled, Bama can't even offer the kid a scholarship.Bama would get the North Carolina basketball type penalty since they are a "blueblood."
I don't think it's that easy but I could be wrong. I don't care one way or the other.I think you're right with regard to Bama. My concern is that Nixon could ask for a release. F THAT!Unless Iowa releases him from it which they probably would if he asked out of it.
