Lose Out, Still In The NCAA Tournament

If they lose out I wouldn't be surprised to see them in the play in game for the tournament.

Pretty much at a 9 seed right now.

Lose the last 2 and first round in BTT, We’d be in Dayton at best or NIT.

If we win at Nebbie and lose first round we will be in as a 10.

You do realize that it’s likely that 12 seeds are playing in Dayton this year. You have Iowa going from a 10 if we beat Nebraska to a 12 at best.

22-9 heading into BTT looks a lot better than 21-10 and 4 straight losses (3 by blow out).

If we finish 21-11 it’ll look bad and we shouldn’t be in. The last 8 games we’ve looked like dogsh!t and shouldn’t be in the tourny.

That’s your opinion. Let’s be glad that you aren’t on the committee.

Easily in NCAA, and not Dayton. Grow up, folks.
Yeah if I'm on the selection committee I'm for sure looking at Iowa and thinking "yep, they're a lock." Bull. Sh*t. If the hawks don't stick it to Nebraska and go on to win a couple in the Big Ten Tourney, they shouldn't get an invite. You can't LIMP through the tail-end of the season and expect to get rewarded. I really cannot believe how poorly they've been playing basketball.

Gimme a sec.

I never said they deserve a bid.

Limping through the tail end of the season isn't a factor other than hurting the overall record. The committee only goes off of the full season. And NET is only a partial factor just like RPI was before... Iowa will be in.

In = yes
Seed = 10? Not sure. Don't want to be 8/9 and probably won't be.

If they could play ISU it would at least guarantee that one of them would win. I highly doubt that either team will win a game.

Okay....here's just one example. It's Lunardi's Bracketology with his current 8-12 seeds.
(Unupdated NET ranking is in bold)

Basically, what this says is......stop f***ing worrying about if we'll make the tournament. You're welcome.....

P.S. Of course, what does Joe Lunardi know....he has Iowa State as a f***ing 5 seed. o_O

We're in,... we might lose our next three games, but we're in...

If we lose our next '3' games then we'd definitely be in....;)

I was commenting towards those who don't think we should be in,... as in, "We are playing so bad right now that we could lose the next three and we would still completely deserve to have been invited to the dance"....

Well......they're not wrong.

I think?

Listening to a podcast on CBS sports and they said that this year could be some late week bid stealers. He went onto say this would be the year to reward the mid majors (OVC has 2) w/at large bids since the PAC 12 is down, Big East is down and Both Big12/10 teams are fading. Said there are a lot of good teams who should be in over some of the middle of the pack power 5 schools. Then they talked about conf records and how it’s unbalanced and i lost interest.

If Iowa goes 0-2 they will be a 10-11 seed at best. What would the fan perception be? Would anyone travel to the first round games? I wouldn’t even if they were in Des Moines.

I'm sure that Fran gave the players a thumbs up after reaching 21 wins, a 6th place finish in the BIG, and an NCAA invite that assured him of a bonus. As with all the other years Iowa faded after reaching mid to high AP ratings the players were probably told to ease off on their play as not to give the fan base undo expectations. Whatever was said it has worked to perfection.
