Great back story, but instead of spending the money to paint the helmets, maybe . . . IMHO . . . maybe they could have donated a similar amount to the local VFW or American Legion post. To me, that would do a whole lot more good than the fancy helmets and be more true to the spirit of why they're wearing the special unis.
I think it's pretty cool. It will be either you love it or hate it for most people.

Those are awesome...and will probably be auctioned off for a huge amount of money which will be given to a good cause.

Also think of all the jobs that have been created for helmet and jersey artists. Do you not want them to be able to feed their families? Do you not care about the helmet and jersey art industry? That is unamerican sir.
