Righteous indignation is now the default reaction to news of any kind in our society.Or if folks had a little patience before immediately going negative...
What a moronic comment. So if he's a walk-on, he shouldn't be criticized. But if he's on scholarship, it's ok to trash the kid.If there was clarification that he was a pwo from the get go, there wouldn’t have been any shatting
His bio says he averaged 15.3 points and was supposedly first team all state in Michigan......PWO? He averaged 8 points a game...
Tell that to all those black dudes he was whuppin' up on in his highlight video. My Gawd, Iowa fans are turning into dicks. All you "experts"," with your astonishing coaching credits, just dismiss the kid before he even gets to IC. Nice way to greet the young man who wants to play for Iowa.
As a senior at Hanover-Horton, Laketa averaged 15 points, 5.3 rebounds, and 1.5 steals on 60% shooting from the field and 45% shooting beyond the arc. He was also a 71% free throw shooterAccording to the Detroit Free Press newspaper, Luc Laketa

Plus, he’s paying out-state-tuition!Congrats to the kid for living out his dream of playing for a D1 program. Best of luck to him and the haters can go f themselves.
That was in 19-20. Went to a prep school this past year. His bio says he averaged 15.3 points and was supposedly first team all state in Michigan......
FIFYHe's a Walk On! Don't worry he won't be taking time from JT or Ulis anytime soon. Also nice to have quality practice players who won't whine about playing time. But I can promise you this - he would bitch slap everyone on this Board except for Kenyon Murray in a game to 10.

So the little square on the home page that says "Iowa adds Walk On Hoops Player" was not enough? If there was clarification that he was a pwo from the get go, there wouldn’t have been any shatting
Nah - in more likelihood it's the same people bitching that Iowa is too "white and unathletic".I would guess that the people bitching about this kid did not like when Fran gave the Murrays scholarships!![]()

Agree! But I'd bet on 99.9%...maybe 100%.He's a Walk On! Don't worry he won't be taking time from JT or Ulis anytime soon. Also nice to have quality practice players who won't whine about playing time. But I can promise you this - he would bitch slap 95% of the people on this Board in a game to 10.
You are probably overestimating saying he would not whip 5%. He was all-state in Michigan. Some maybe would have competed in their prime, but how many can still play, maybe 0.5%.He's a Walk On! Yep, nothing but upside. Looks like he has a good shot and decent athleticism. Could potentially be a contributor in a few yearsThis is a non-issue to me. He's not on scholarship so 0 risk. Odds are he sticks around for a season or two as a practice player then decides to transfer somewhere to play like Baer Jr. did. There are always a few of these kids that rise from obscurity to be contributors, so who knows? Nick Baer certainly didn't strike me as being capable of accomplishing what he did when I saw him for the first time in the PTL.

Nice change your posting. You feeling OK?Smart high character kid who wants to be a Hawkeye and is paying his own way. I don’t see a single negative thing about this.
It also says good things about Fran and what he’s built here that people who really know college basketball by coaching it at the highest level, want to send their kids to his program.
I call it how I see it.Nice change your posting. You feeling OK?
Don't recall you saying good things about Fran, like you did in your second paragraph.Nice change your posting. You feeling OK?
